Any U.S. Citizen who has acquired special knowledge or expertise regarding the nural or cultural resources of Kmai Nional Park and Preserve, by reason of having either lived or worked in or near the unit may apply. See Qualificions section for eligibility requirements. Duties Help Duties of the position include but are not limited to the following: Conducts research to develop interpretive programs for ors, present both formal and informal activities, such as oriention talks and environmental educion. Educe ors about park facilities and resources, assist with special events and celebrions, and opere various audiovisual equipment. Educe ors about front country and backcountry regulions. Schedule, compile reports, and gher stistical da. Conducts outreach programs outside the park to promote the agency's mission and resource conservion. Manage logistics for educion programs, maintain inventories and supplies and or centers, and coordines with other Nional Park Service offices and community organizions to facilite or inquiries and permitting services. Meet Selective Service Registrion Act requirement for males. Selectee required to participe in the Direct Deposit Electronics Funds Transfer Program. You required to opere a government (or prive) motor vehicle as part of your official duties; a valid driver's license is required. You required to submit a Motor Vehicle Operor's License and Driving Record. You must also submit (within a Ste sealed envelope or submitted directly by the Ste authorities), and your own expense, all certified driving records from all Stes th disclose all valid driver's licenses, whether current or past, possessed by you. You may be required to complete training and opere a four-wheel drive vehicle. You required to wear a uniform and comply with the Nional Park Service uniform standards. A uniform allowance provided. You may be required to work on-call, evenings, weekends, holidays and overtime. You may be required to travel overnight away from home up to five nights per month. " Making America Beautiful Again by Improving our Nional Parks, " the Office of Personnel Management (OPM) has approved an exception to the 1039-hour time limition for this position. This approval extends the time limition to 1560 hours for this temporary seasonal appointment. A selectee receiving a first appointment to the Federal Government (Civil Service) is entitled only to the lowest step of the grade for which selected. The display of a salary range on this vacancy shall not be construed as granting an entitlement to a higher re of pay. This announcement may be used to fill additional positions if identical vacancies occur within 90 days of the issue de of the referral certifice. Physical Demands:
The work requires regular and recurring physical exertion such as long periods of standing, walking, driving, bending, and the incumbent must have the ability to routinely carry backpacks of up to 50 pounds in steep terrain and in adverse weher conditions.
