Seasonal Part-Time Kitchen & Counter Assistant

Hamrah's Lebanese Foods & Takeaway is a small, locally owned Lebanese café in Kinderhook, NY. We offer fresh Lebanese wraps, bowls, salads, prepared foods, desserts, and specialty groceries. We are looking for a dependable, energetic team member to join us for the busy season. Responsibilities This is a hands-on position with a variety of duties, including: Basic food preparation Making sandwiches, salads, and grain bowls Providing counter service by taking orders, answering questions, and speaking confidently about menu items and ingredients Preparing beverages, packaging desserts and refrigerated items, and heating hand pies to order Operating the Square POS system to process customer orders Handling cash transactions accurately Maintaining cleanliness and sanitation in kitchen, counter, and dining areas in accordance with food safety guidelines Assisting with food handling tasks and ensuring quick turnaround during busy periods Qualifications Previous experience in food preparation or food service, such as in a café, deli, or quick-service restaurant Excellent communication skills and the ability to ask questions when needed Friendly, outgoing personality with confidence discussing menu items and ingredients Familiarity with POS systems such as Square Strong time management and organizational skills Basic math skills for cash handling and sales calculations Knowledge of food safety, sanitation, and proper food handling procedures Ability to stand for extended periods and lift up to 40 pounds Availability to work Fridays and Saturdays through Labor Day, with the possibility of extending through October Work references required Schedule Part-time, seasonal position Fridays and Saturdays, 11:00 AM-7:30 PM Approximately 15-20 hours per week Compensation $17-$20 per hour, depending on experience, plus tips
