Job Description

Job Description This position provides management assistant support to the MIOC Tactical Intelligence Commander. This position requires a thorough knowledge of Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook) and video conferencing platforms in addition to department applications SIGMA and NEOGOV. This position provides backup for the Division and is the human resources liaison. Composes and edits correspondence and reports, maintains various files and databases, receives and screens incoming calls, and handles mail distribution, all of a confidential nature. SIGMA timekeeping, auditing time and checking for errors; performing modifications as necessary and generating reports, reviews and processes invoices in SIGMA, orders supplies, and manages Procurement Card. In addition, the position also performs accounting and financial grant and marketing activities in support of section goals and objectives. Additional duties may include coordination of office activities and secretarial assignments including scheduling meetings, making travel arrangements, maintaining office records, maintaining meeting minutes, and paying invoices. This position will perform functions in a bias free manner.

The Michigan State Police (MSP) is a full-service policing agency with statewide jurisdiction, providing over 60 different services either directly to Michigan residents or in support of other law enforcement agencies. The MSP personnel most visible to the public are the uniform troopers whose primary responsibilities include traffic enforcement, crime prevention and investigation, and community engagement and service. Required Education and Experience Education Educational level typically acquired through completion of high school. Experience Four years of office experience involving administrative support practices, including one year equivalent to advanced 8-level administrative support work, or equivalent to a Secretary E8, or Legal Secretary E8. OR Four years of office experience involving administrative support practices, including two years equivalent to experienced E7-level administrative support work, or equivalent to a Secretary 7, or Legal Secretary 7. Additional Requirements and Information This position requires passing a pre-employment screening, including passing a drug screen, criminal history background check, and a fingerprint check by the Michigan State Police.
