Job Description
Job Overview:
In the broadest sense, it is the Forest Highlands Security Officer's duty to endeavor to protect all persons and property within the confines of Forest Highlands Golf Club. Specifically, the duties and functions may include but are not limited to the following.Essential Functions:
Primary responsibility is to work in the community entrance gatehouse (answer/make phone calls, process visitors into the community, monitor alarm and email computers, monitor radio traffic for the Security Dept. and dispatch officers accordingly, and have great customer service skills while performing department duties; Enforce Forest Highland's rules and regulations; Observe and report unsafe, illegal, irregular, or unusual conditions; Attempt to correct or report to proper authorities in the event of unsafe or illegal activities; Observe, control and document guest/visitor entry into Forest Highlands' property; Utilize the dwellingLIVE guest management system as described in the manual; Maintain key control and key records, including special requests and monitor alarms; Properly dispatch other officers or appropriate authorities to alarms from residences and Association buildings in Forest Highlands; Provide keys or access to homes for guests and contractors Enforce speed limits on Forest Highlands' property, by issuing citations to violators; Provide assistance to law enforcement, fire, and medical personnel; Respond to emergency situations and provide first aid, crowd control, communications assistance, or any other assistance as prescribed by the Director; Provide directions, information and assistance as appropriate; Maintain a neat, clean, and orderly workplace; and Other duties as required by the shift supervisor or directorsQualifications:

Strong interpersonal, communication and customer service skills; Must be self-motivated with a positive and professional attitude; Organized, able to work in a busy environment where priorities change; Ability to perform a wide variety of tasks during busy times while working flexible hours with an enthusiastic personality; Excellent phone skills; and Must be reliablePreferred Requirements:
1 to 3 years of related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience; Ability to operate vehicles, to include 4WD equipped vehicles; Ability to use computers and learn software related to alarm monitoring software; Ability to develop and maintain awareness of occupational hazards and safety precautions; skilled in following safety practices and recognizing hazards; and CPR/First Aid and AED certifiedLanguage Skills:
Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals. Ability to communicate effectively with guests, management, vendors/suppliers, the general public and other employees of the Company.Mathematical Skills:
Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure using whole numbers.Reasoning Ability:
Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form. Ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situationsPhysical Demands and Work Environment:
Position is in a busy private golf residential community; Flexibility in schedule; Ability to lift up to 25lbs regularly and up to 50lbs occasionally; Must be able to frequently walk, sit, stand, bend, use hands to finger, handle, or feel; and talk or hear, stoop kneel, crouch, adjust vision accordingly (close, distance, peripheral, and depth perception); Exposed to outside weather conditions including low temperatures; Occasionally exposed to moving mechanical parts and a quiet work environment; Continuous ability to talk and hear; and Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision.Equipment Used:
