Security Guard

Security Guard - Cannabis Dispensary MEDfarms MEDfarms is seeking a professional, reliable, and observant Security Guard to help maintain a safe and secure environment for our customers, employees, and facility. This position is responsible for monitoring both inside and outside dispensary operations, preventing theft or disturbances, and ensuring compliance with company safety procedures and state cannabis regulations. The ideal candidate will have strong communication skills, excellent situational awareness, and the ability to remain calm and professional in fast-paced situations. Essential Job Responsibilities Monitor dispensary premises, including sales floor, lobby, parking lot, and surrounding property Conduct regular patrols inside and outside the facility to deter theft, vandalism, trespassing, or suspicious activity Observe surveillance camera systems and report any unusual behavior or security concerns Provide a visible security presence to promote a safe and welcoming environment Control customer flow during busy hours and assist with line management when needed Verify identification and assist with access control procedures Ensure only authorized personnel enter restricted or employee-only areas Respond quickly and professionally to incidents, disturbances, or emergencies Assist in de-escalating conflicts or disruptive situations while maintaining professionalism Enforce company policies, parking regulations, and dispensary safety procedures Monitor parking lot activity and help prevent illegal parking, loitering, or blocked fire lanes Escort employees or customers to vehicles when necessary for added safety Maintain detailed incident reports and communicate security concerns to management Coordinate with local law enforcement or emergency responders if required Help maintain compliance with all cannabis industry security regulations Qualifications & Requirements Previous security, law enforcement, or loss prevention experience preferred High school diploma or equivalent required Must be able to remain alert and attentive for extended periods Strong communication and conflict-resolution skills Ability to stay calm under pressure and handle difficult situations professionally Ability to work evenings, weekends, and holidays as needed Must be dependable, punctual, and professional in appearance Ability to walk, stand, and patrol for long periods of time Experience working in retail or cannabis environments is a plus Must be able to pass all required background checks Preferred Skills Surveillance monitoring experience Customer service and crowd management Emergency response and incident reporting Conflict de-escalation techniques Knowledge of retail security procedures and cannabis compliance regulations At MEDfarms, safety and customer experience are top priorities.
