We are seeking a dedicated and vigilant Security Officer to join our team. The ideal candidate will play a crucial role in maintaining a safe and secure environment for our client's locations and property during the overnight hours. This position requires a proactive approach to security, excellent observational skills, and the ability to respond effectively to various situations, and understanding of their role as a theft deterrent. This is an UNARMED security position. The roles we are looking to fill at this time are per diem (as needed) roles. The job location is East Hartford and Simsbury. This position will NOT provide for set hours weekly. This role is an "as needed" position, to assist with filling open shifts as they come, but we do have several available shifts this month already. An ideal candidate is someone who is not relying on this position as their primary income, but can be available for shifts on short notice. The requirements of this position are as follows: Monitor and patrol assigned areas to prevent and detect signs of intrusion or suspicious activities. Respond promptly to alarms and emergency situations, ensuring the safety of individuals on the premises. Conduct thorough inspections of buildings, grounds, and equipment to ensure security protocols are followed. Utilize surveillance equipment, including CCTV systems, to monitor activities and document incidents. Collaborate with law enforcement and emergency services as needed during incidents or emergencies. Enforce rules and regulations while maintaining a professional demeanor at all times. Prepare detailed reports on incidents, observations, and activities for record-keeping purposes. Engage in conflict management techniques to de-escalate potentially volatile situations. Skills Proven experience in law enforcement or military is required! Strong observational skills with the ability to remain alert and focused during long shifts. Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, for effective reporting and interaction with others. Ability to work independently as well as part of a team in high-pressure situations.
