Security Officer

Security Officer / Gate Attendant Full and Part Positions - Sterling IL We are currently seeking candidates for unarmed professional Security Officer / Gate Attendant Positions. The gate attendant's primary objective is to provide excellent customer service and physical security. Attention to detail and adherence to job duties will ensure the success of the gate attendant, and the satisfaction of our client and our client's customers. Qualified candidates will be intelligent and courteous. They will have a friendly attitude, professional demeanor, excellent customer service skills, and the ability to communicate effectively and de-escalate verbal conflict.

Requirements:

Must be at least 18 years of age. High school diploma, GED, or equivalent experience. Must have reliable transportation to report to work at various sites. Proficient written and oral communication skills. Must be responsible, dependable, and have a professional attitude. Must have good attendance, must be punctual, and have excellent people skills. Must be able to walk and be on your feet for extended periods of time. Must be willing to work outdoors during inclement weather. Must be able to pass a strict background check. Prior security, military, or law enforcement experience is a plus. Availability to work 1st and 2nd shift hours including weekends and holidays is required. All Stewart Security employees must become licensed by the IL Dept of Financial and Professional Regulation, which includes a fingerprint based criminal background check. If you are offered a job, but you do not already have an IL security permit (Permanent Employee Registration Card - PERC), Stewart Security will assist you with applying for one.

Additional Gate Attendant Duties:

Checking customer invoices and loads. Controlling access to the product yard. Simple entries on an electronic table to assist with inventory control (training provided) Provide excellent customer service while maintaining security protocols. Building materials / trade knowledge a plus.
