As a Security Officer Enhanced Part Time Access Control in Beltsville, MD , this role is designed to provide reliable, consistent hours at an assigned site with the flexibility for you to earn more by picking-up additional shifts when it works for you.

• Fixed-Shift Commitment ("Anchor Shifts"): You will be hired for a designated site and weekly shift that serves as your reliable base schedule. This assignment requires a six (6) month commitment

Earn More, Claim-A-Shift Program:

In addition to your fixed shift, you may pick-up extra shifts through our scheduling platform, allowing you to increase earnings and gain experience across multiple sites. Work part-time hours this week and full-time the next. It's all up to you.

This role is ideal for candidates seeking part-time employment with flexibility, income stability, and opportunities to build-up to a full-time schedule of up to 40 hours per week; always with the option to scale back when needed.

Responsibilities

• Provide customer service by carrying out site-specific access control procedures, visitor screening, credential checks, and/or entry and exit monitoring at a busy logistics and distribution location
• Monitor gates, docks, lobbies, and other assigned access points to help to deter unauthorized entry, support traffic flow, and report unusual activity, policy violations, and/or security-related concerns
• Respond to incidents, alarms, and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner, documenting observations and communicating with site contacts, drivers, visitors, and Allied Universal leadership as needed
• Conduct regular and random patrols around the location and perimeter, including shipping, receiving, trailer, and parking areas, with attention to access control issues, damaged barriers, and/or other security-related conditions
• Maintain accurate logs, incident reports, and visitor records, and assist with enforcing site rules related to deliveries, pickups, employee access, and/or contractor access.

Minimum Requirements

• A guard card and/or license is preferred
• Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles
• Possess a high school diploma or equivalent
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws
• Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law
• Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment
• A valid driver's license will be required for driving positions only.
