Full Job Description Semi-Trailer Mechanic Location:

Full-Time About the Role We are seeking an experienced and dependable Semi Trailer Mechanic to join our team. The ideal candidate will have strong knowledge of trailer repair, preventative maintenance, welding/fabrication, electrical diagnostics, and air brake systems. This position requires someone who can work independently, troubleshoot efficiently, and maintain equipment to DOT safety standards. Starting hourly could increase based on experience. Responsibilities Diagnose and repair semi-trailers including flatbeds, Conestoga trailers, and specialized equipment Perform welding and fabrication repairs on trailer frames, crossmembers, floors, doors, and structural components Troubleshoot and repair electrical systems including ABS systems, lighting, wiring harnesses, sensors, and related components Inspect, diagnose, and repair air systems including: Air brakes Suspension systems Lift axles Air valves and related pneumatic components Perform preventative maintenance inspections and repairs Replace and service wheel seals, hubs, brakes, bearings, airbags, and suspension parts Ensure all equipment meets DOT compliance and safety standards Maintain accurate repair records and clearly communicate repair needs Keep work areas clean, organized, and safe Qualifications Experience as a semi trailer mechanic or heavy-duty technician preferred Proficiency in MIG and aluminum welding and metal fabrication Strong understanding of trailer electrical systems and ABS diagnostics Knowledge of air brake systems, trailer suspension, lift axles, and pneumatic controls Ability to efficiently diagnose mechanical and electrical issues Familiarity with preventative maintenance programs Ability to work independently and manage time effectively Valid driver's license required; CDL preferred but not required Must provide own tools Preferred Skills DOT inspection experience Experience using diagnostic tools and repair software Ability to safely operate shop equipment What We Offer Competitive pay based on experience Stable, full-time employment Opportunity for overtime Supportive team environment
