Senior Accountant Mid City $75-85k

Summary:

Responsible for executing full-cycle accounting, payroll, and financial reporting functions for a long-standing, family-owned company and its affiliate company. The Senior Accountant works closely with the sales and production team, executive leadership, ownership, and external advisors to provide reliable financial information, support operational decision-making, and improve financial processes. In addition, this position contributes to strategic initiatives and special projects that support the company's growth and financial health.

Responsibilities:

Accounts Payable Accounts Receivable General Ledger and Month End Accounting Duties:

Record journal entries and maintain accurate ledgers Maintain chart of accounts for consistent financial reporting Reconcile all bank accounts and credit card accounts Execute all balance sheet reconciliations on a monthly, quarterly, and annual basis Maintain and review task checklists and deadlines to ensure timely period-end, quarter-end, and year-end closes and accurate financial reporting Prepare monthly and YTD financial statements Prepare departmental financial reports with analyses, such as production reports, sales reports, expense reports, etc.

Payroll Duties:

Compute company commissions Process biweekly payroll Submit 401k deferrals and company matches through the portal Post payroll to general ledger and reconcile payroll Assist executive leadership with Human Resource functions that relate to payroll when necessary

Tax Filings Duties Insurance Management Qualifications:

Prefer Bachelor's degree in accounting, finance, or related field 4+ years of progressive accounting experience required Experience with MS Dynamics GP preferred Experience with inventory transactions a plus Strong knowledge of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles Intermediate to Advanced Excel skills
