NOW HIRING A SR. ACCOUNTING CLERK!
Plastic Design and Manufacturing based in Manhattan, Montana is looking to fill the role of an in-house, full-time Sr. Accounting Clerk. This position will be a part of a dynamic accounting team and report directly to the company Controller. In this position, you will have the opportunity to complete complex clerical, bookkeeping, and accounting assignments to ensure the accurate and timely preparation of accounting statements and financial reports. You will also manage accounts receivable, create customer invoices, verify payments, research customer issues, assist in reconciliation, review AP, issue any payments, audit purchases, and prepare monthly inventory control reports. This is a growing organization and, as you grow with our company, your job duties may enhance or strengthen to ensure your happiness and the significance of your contribution to our company's success. An ideal candidate will have 3-5 years' experience doing similar work, and a strong background working with spreadsheets and accounting software systems. They should be able to work independently once trained and adapt to new systems and processes easily. The position requires a high level of organization. We would prefer someone who has an intermediate understanding of the Spanish or Mandarin language. Any interested applicant must possess a valid Montana driver's license.
Compensation & Benefit Overview:
$65,000 - $75,000 per year depending on qualifications. Job Summary The Sr. Accounting Clerk will report to the Controller and perform complex clerical, bookkeeping, and accounting assignments and prepare accounting statements and financial reports. Job Duties and Responsibilities Prepare financial reports and various accounting statements. Processes payroll and prepare necessary payroll reports. Manages accounts receivable using accounting software and other programs. Creates customer invoices according to company practices. Verifies, and records customer payments and transactions related to accounts receivable. Reconciles accounts receivable. Research customer discrepancies and past-due amounts with the assistance of the Controller. Assists Controller in reconciling revenue accounts each month. Manages accounts payable using accounting software and other programs. Reviews Accounts Payable invoices and confirms correct accounting codes were used. Enters vendor and voucher information into accounting software system. Issues payments as approved. Ensuring bills and payroll are paid in a timely and accurate manner while adhering to company procedures. Compare purchase orders, prices, terms of payment and other charges. Prepares monthly inventory control reports. Assist with HR related functions as needed. Performs general office work and assists other office staff in completing duties, as needed. Performs other duties as assigned. Job Qualifications and Requirements Required Any combination of training, education and experience equivalent to graduation from high school with some bookkeeping coursework. 3-5 years of related work experience. Proficiency working with Microsoft Office programs and accounting software/database systems. Preferred 1. Associate degree preferred. 2. Previous work experience in Accounts Payable and Accounts Receivable. 3. Fluency in Spanish or Mandarin. Necessary Special Requirements Must possess a valid Montana driver license or the ability to obtain one within 6 months of start date. Ability to operate related office equipment, such as computers, 10-key calculator, and copier. Demonstrated ability to carry out several tasks simultaneously and to organize time to meet established deadlines. Ability to analyze, interpret and respond effectively to simple to complex accounting inquiries. Add, subtract, multiply and divide numbers. Calculate rate, ratio, and percentages. Utilize computer spreadsheet and word processing programs to input, format, and edit data. Performs role in a highly ethical manner. Self-motivated with highly productive work results with effective time management skills. Team-oriented, cooperative and collaborative and ability to work effectively as part of a team and contribute to the success of a team. Mental and Physical Demands Work is performed in a traditional office setting with controlled temperatures and occasional and low to moderate noise levels. Occasional visits to the production floor may be required where noise levels range from moderate to very loud. Hearing protection is required in designated areas. Work requires prolonged sitting at a desk and using a computer. Occasional walking between departments and on a concrete production floor. Ability to climb stairs as needed. Effective verbal and written communication skills for interaction with colleagues, vendors, and leadership in person and on the phone. May require occasional lifting of up to 10 lbs. and infrequently up to 25 lbs. May involve occasional exposure to chemicals and machinery, with appropriate safety precautions.
