Job DescriptionJob Description We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Senior Accounting Manager to establish and lead accounting operations for our new regional office. This leadership role will be responsible for building scalable accounting processes, ensuring financial compliance, supporting regional growth initiatives, and serving as a key business partner to operational and executive leadership. The ideal candidate is a hands-on accounting leader who thrives in a growth environment, has strong technical accounting expertise, and can successfully build and manage accounting functions in a developing regional structure. Key Responsibilities Lead all accounting operations for the regional office, including general ledger, accounts payable, accounts receivable, payroll coordination, fixed assets, and reconciliations. Establish and implement accounting policies, procedures, and internal controls aligned with corporate standards and GAAP. Manage the monthly, quarterly, and annual close process for the regional office, ensuring timely and accurate financial reporting. Partner with corporate finance and accounting teams to support consolidated reporting and intercompany transactions. Develop financial reporting packages, variance analyses, and operational metrics for regional leadership. Support regional budgeting, forecasting, and financial planning activities. Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local tax and regulatory requirements. Coordinate external audits and assist with internal audit requests and compliance initiatives. Hire, mentor, and develop accounting staff as the regional office expands. Identify opportunities to improve systems, automate processes, and enhance operational efficiencies. Serve as a trusted advisor to regional leadership on financial performance, risk management, and strategic initiatives. Support office startup activities, including system implementations, workflow design, and process documentation. Qualifications Required Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field. 7-10+ years of progressive accounting experience, including management responsibilities. Strong understanding of GAAP, financial reporting, and internal controls. Experience leading accounting operations in a multi-location or growing organization. Proven ability to build processes and manage change in a dynamic environment. Advanced proficiency with ERP/accounting systems and Microsoft Excel. Excellent leadership, communication, and organizational skills. Preferred CPA certification strongly preferred. Experience opening or supporting new offices, business units, or regional operations. Public accounting background preferred. Experience with ERP implementations and process optimization initiatives. Familiarity with multi-state operations and regulatory compliance.
