Senior Automotive Mechanic (135135)

Talascend is currently seeking a Senior Automotive Mechanic for a contract opportunity with our client in Livonia, Michigan. Overview The senior automotive mechanic will modify cars and trucks in a prototype environment, performing diagnostics, repairs, and maintenance. They will also mentor and oversee team members to ensure standards are met. Responsibilities Maintain vehicle functional condition by working off repair orders or leader instructions and conducting inspections. Repair mechanical and electrical system malfunctions and replace parts and components. Read, interpret, and follow service procedures. Train, coach, and mentor team members related to their job responsibilities and serve as a subject matter expert for troubleshooting and technical issues. Maintain vehicle records by entering notes, service, and repair orders. Keep shop equipment operating by following operating instructions, troubleshooting breakdowns, performing preventive maintenance, and calling for repairs. Lead daily shop organization and clean-up. Qualifications High school diploma or equivalent. Minimum of 8 years of work experience as a mechanic. Excellent knowledge of mechanical assembly and ability to operate shop equipment. Good attention to detail and organizational skills. Ability to work independently and as part of a team, with mentoring and training skills. Own tools with rolling toolbox. Ability to read, comprehend, and execute written procedures. Preferred Qualifications Certificate in automotive technology or related field. State mechanic certification(s). Valid driver's license. Knowledge of vehicle alignments, air conditioning (A/C) system repairs, tire machines, and balancers. We thank all applicants for their interest.
