We are seeking an experienced and detail-oriented Senior Certified Payroll Specialist to join our team. This position is responsible for managing and processing California payroll accurately and in compliance with all applicable regulations. The ideal candidate will have strong knowledge of certified payroll, prevailing wage requirements, payroll tax compliance, and HR/payroll systems. This is a confidential search for a highly organized professional who thrives in a fast-paced environment and can work independently while supporting company operations. Key Responsibilities Process California payroll accurately and on time Manage certified payroll reporting and prevailing wage compliance Ensure compliance with California payroll laws, labor regulations, and tax requirements Maintain payroll records, employee deductions, garnishments, levies, and tax filings Audit payroll data for accuracy and resolve discrepancies promptly Prepare payroll reports for management, accounting, and audits Coordinate with HR regarding benefit rates, employee deductions, and pay changes Coordinate with accounting regarding payroll reporting and reconciliations Process and manage wage garnishments in compliance with California and federal requirements Handle employee payroll inquiries professionally and confidentially Support year-end payroll processing, W-2s, and payroll reconciliations Stay current on labor laws, payroll regulations, and compliance updates Qualifications CPP (Certified Payroll Professional) certification preferred Minimum 5+ years of payroll processing experience Experience with certified payroll and prevailing wage reporting required Strong understanding of California payroll tax laws and compliance requirements Experience processing California payroll for construction or related industries preferred Proficiency with payroll software and Microsoft Excel Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail Ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive information Strong communication and problem-solving skills Compensation & Benefits Competitive salary based on experience Health, dental, and vision benefits Paid time off and holidays 401(k) opportunities Supportive and professional work environment How to Apply Please submit your resume along with a brief summary of your payroll and certified payroll experience.
