Job Description

The Senior Electrical Product Development Engineer is a key technical contributor driving G&G's electrical product development from concept through production. This is a hands-on opportunity to join a fast-growing, innovative team where your expertise in power electronics, PCB design, and hardware validation directly shape G&G product design and reliability. As a proactive problem solver, the Senior Electrical Product Development Engineer thrives in a fast-paced, entrepreneurial environment with the desire to drive significant impact. Technically deep and execution oriented, you drive electrical design from R&D through production release. Who will I report to? VP of Engineering What roles am I accountable for? Electrical Design & Product Development (60%) Design electrical circuits and PCBs for LED drivers, control systems, and power electronics. Utilize Altium Designer for PCB layouts; maintain all ECAD data. Develop early-phase R&D prototypes and proof-of-concept designs. Create, execute, and document hardware validation plans. Support UL certification on new product development. Drive continuous product improvements and iteration through field analysis and root cause investigation. Design and implement production test fixtures for PCBA validation at volume. Manage assigned projects end-to-end; maintain timelines, escalate risks, communicate status proactively. Manufacturing Integration & Cross Functional Collaboration (30%) Own BOM accuracy for assigned products; verify components against design requirements. Validate incoming parts and assemblies against design specifications. Manage component alternate approvals and proactively qualify alternates. Support internal
SMT/PCBA
process as a technical expert. Forensic analysis of electrical field returns and internal defects; drive corrective actions. Partner with manufacturing on first-run production builds. Establish electrical test methods and procedures. Provide technical guidance to Sales and Support teams as needed. Team G&G (10%) Live and reinforce G&G core values. Contribute as a key member of the G&G Engineering team, fostering a culture of problem solving and continuous improvement. Provide guidance and mentorship to junior engineering team members. We take pride in doing things right the first time. We lead with quality in everything we do. What will I need to succeed? Must align with our Core Values. A bachelor's degree in electrical engineering, or equivalent demonstrated experience in power electronics design and PCB development. 5+ years of hands-on experience designing switching power supplies, LED drivers, or similar power electronics products is essential. Proficiency in Altium Designer for schematic capture and PCB layout.
Strong lab skills:
oscilloscope, bench power supply, DMM, and the ability to debug hardware at the circuit level independently Experience working through UL certification (1598, 8750, or similar) is a plus. Familiarity with EMC testing methodologies (conducted/radiated immunity, IEC 61000 series) is a plus. Embedded firmware experience (C, Python, or similar) is a plus. Experience with industrial LED lighting products or three-phase power systems is a strong plus. This role is eligible for profit sharing.

From $130,000.00 per year
