Job Description:

The fixture development engineer supports operations and engineering by producing, maintaining, troubleshooting, and repairing test fixtures, test systems, and test equipment.

Job Responsibilities:

Lead all fixture development activities from concept to production. Design and develop fixtures to support testing of electronics components. Create schematics to document fixture designs. Develop PCB layout and assembly drawings to support fixture fabrication. Assemble test systems on work benches and in environmental chambers. Troubleshoot (component level) and repair test systems, test fixtures and equipment. Plan and prioritize work for fixture assembly operator(s). Provide Operations Lead support for Product Introduction (NPI) activities. Create items, BOMs, and document numbers in PLM and ERP system. Obtain quotes and place purchase requisitions for materials. Adhere to all safety protocol and use of personal protective equipment (PPE). Maintain a neat and organized work area.

Requirements/Qualifications:

Required Qualifications:

Experience using PCB layout software such as Altium or Mentor Graphics. Proficiency in soldering surface mount and thru-hole components. Extensive knowledge and use of electronic equipment to include oscilloscopes, frequency counters, power supplies, multimeters, multiplexers, interfaces, GPIB, CAT 5, and environmental chambers. Ability to bend, stoop, kneel, twist, sit or lie down while working with tools and equipment. Proficient use of hand tools such as micrometers, calipers, crimpers, nippers, torque drivers, soldering irons, hot air tools, etc. Ability to read and interpret drawings and work instructions. Proficient in Excel, Word and general computer use.

Desired Qualifications:

Experience developing test fixtures for electronic systems. Electronics design background and experience. SolidWorks or similar software experience. 3D Printer experience. Education and Experience 4 year Electronic or Electrical Engineering degree plus a minimum of 5 years' experience supporting and maintaining electronic equipment and test systems, or equivalent combination of education and experience.
