Senior iCloud Engineering Program Manager -
The iCloud Program team within Apple Services Engineering is seeking an extraordinary Engineering Program Manager with a deep understanding of technology and a genuine passion for delivering complex, cross-functional projects in a fast-paced environment. They will run programs alongside a highly talented engineering organization responsible for Apple's Identity and Messaging services - that are the underlying infrastructure for iMessage, FaceTime, Apple Push Notification and many other services used by billions of customers. That being just a tip of the iceberg of this team's broad impact, the possibilities for exercising your creative chops are limitless. Description This position requires technical curiosity and intuition for business along with strong program management skills. We are looking for someone to drive, own, and ship all aspects of large, multi-functional efforts and feature areas. You will partner with engineering teams throughout feature development from architecture, design, implementation, and validation. The successful EPM will proactively identify, prioritize, and drive resolution of program issues. You will also present new feature initiatives, top issues, risks, and critical achievements to executive leadership and collaborate with cross-functional teams across Apple to align the roadmap across various lines of business. Responsibilities Drive the meetings needed to establish and document the scope of the project. The EPM is expected to have an informed perspective on what should be included / excluded as a partner with the Engineering Manager (EM) Plan and maintain the cross-functional schedule for the program, establishing milestones, achievements, and work breakdowns using established templates Schedule, publish agendas, run, and summarize decisions / action items for meetings where EPM involvement is needed with stakeholders, teams and cross-functional partners Partner with the EM to ensure the work is prioritized to meet the project expectations and offer data and planning expertise for working through prioritization challenges Participate and facilitate teams working through technical challenges and decisions. Remain curious to understand and be able to represent the overall system design independently Establish and document known risks, dependencies, and other information central to the project as required Partner with the EM as an informed product / service / framework stakeholder to participate in feature ideas, insights, and feedback Drive the collaboration with other teams within the org and across Apple including Security, Legal, Privacy and Design (HI). Minimum Qualifications Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, related degree or equivalent experience 5+ years of project, product or program management experience in one or more of the following areas: cloud services, software development or operations Deep understanding of the software product lifecycle and lead projects from start to finish using Agile methodologies Demonstrated ability to collaborate with multiple cross-functional teams, get buy-in, and thrive in a fast paced, oftentimes ambiguous environment Experience driving and delivering critical project features which involve partnerships with multiple different teams across Apple Adept at leveraging data from diverse sources to draw insights and make informed decisions across their programs. Outstanding verbal and written communication skills; must be comfortable communicating with and presenting to executive management Strong leadership skills and ability to empower team members Preferred Qualifications Experience in domains such as: Distributed Systems, Platform, Infrastructure Pay & Benefits At Apple, base pay is one part of our total compensation package and is determined within a range. This provides the opportunity to progress as you grow and develop within a role. The base pay range for this role is between $172,100 and $258,600, and your base pay will depend on your skills, qualifications, experience, and location. Apple employees also have the opportunity to become an Apple shareholder through participation in Apple's discretionary employee stock programs. Apple employees are eligible for discretionary restricted stock unit awards, and can purchase Apple stock at a discount if voluntarily participating in Apple's Employee Stock Purchase Plan. You'll also receive benefits including: Comprehensive medical and dental coverage, retirement benefits, a range of discounted products and free services, and for formal education related to advancing your career at Apple, reimbursement for certain educational expenses — including tuition.
