Job Description

Design Where Craftsmanship Meets Clientele For over 30 years, South Bay Design Center has been the South Bay's premier destination for high-end kitchen and bath remodeling. Our nearly 30,000 sq. ft. showroom inside the Atrium Design Center sits on one of Southern California's busiest corridors — putting your designs in front of serious, qualified buyers every day. We're a full-service design and construction firm representing the cabinetry lines that define the industry: Poggenpohl, Dura Supreme, Bellmont, Medallion, and Envoy. With 10+ fully built kitchen and bath displays (and more on the way), we give our designers the tools, brands, and clientele to do their best work. The Role We're looking for an experienced designer who treats every project as a craft — someone who can guide a client from first sketch through final install with skill, patience, and polish. You'll be responsible for: Designing custom and semi-custom kitchens and baths from concept through completion Producing detailed floor plans, elevations, and client presentations Consulting with clients in our showroom and at job sites — measuring, verifying orders, and managing expectations Closing contracts and partnering closely with our project managers through build-out Placing and tracking orders through manufacturer order-entry portals Who Thrives Here This role is built for a designer who has already proven themselves in the custom cabinetry world and wants a showroom, brand portfolio, and client base that match their skill level.
Required:
7+ years of kitchen and bath design experience 100+ completed projects designing with custom or semi-custom cabinetry Prior experience working inside a kitchen and bath showroom Proficiency in AutoCAD or 2020 Design Comfort using manufacturer order-entry portals Strong Microsoft Office skills Excellent communication, organization, and follow-through Professional references
Important:
This role is not a fit for designers whose background is exclusively RTA or imported cabinetry. Our clientele and product lines require deeper experience with premium custom work.
Nice to have:
Design certificate or degree Experience managing mid- to high-end residential clientele Compensation & Schedule $100,000-$200,000/year (base + commission; commensurate with experience) Full-time, 5-day flexible schedule Showroom hours: 7 days/week, 10am-6pm Some weekend availability required On-site at our South Bay showroom Apply If you've built a career around custom cabinetry and want to design for a company that's been doing it right for three decades, we'd like to meet you.
Please be prepared to confirm:
Have you completed 100+ kitchen and bath projects? Have you worked in a kitchen and bath showroom designing with custom cabinets?
