Senior Living Internship Position Description Glenmeadow , founded in 1884, is the exemplar for vibrant senior living and home care in Western Massachusetts. With a mix of independent living, assisted living, home care, and respite care, Glenmeadow prioritizes aging in community in a wellness-focused and person-centered environment of belonging, kindness, adventure, and connection. Reporting to Glenmeadow Leadership, the Senior Living Intern will expand their knowledge of the senior living industry and contribute to Glenmeadow s progress by assisting with or taking ownership of discrete projects across the range of departments and functions that make up our community. This includes, but is not limited to, administration, human resources, dining, health services, hospitality, life enrichment, maintenance operations, and sales and marketing, OUTCOMES include the following. Develop a working knowledge of the not-for-profit senior living sector and Glenmeadow s mission and operations by rotating through our divisions of responsibility. Develop an understanding of the experience of Glenmeadow residents by engaging with them in structured and unstructured settings including programs through Life Enrichment, Provide suggestions and ideas for enhancing operations to improve occupancy and visibility. Recommend and implement strategies to improve workflow and automation of routine business practices. Participate in the strategic planning process at an organizational level, while also contributing to the work of one or more working groups in areas of particular interest. Develop an understanding of Glenmeadow s competitive market landscape. Participate in a range of reputation building activities and events. Assist in creating dashboards and other reporting tools to longitudinally track performance against metrics.
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS
Matriculation in a Bachelor s degree or Master s degree program in a relevant major. Internship credit option and/or a stipend may be available. Demonstrated interest in the senior living sector. Capable of handling multiple priorities while maintaining a positive attitude. Professional appearance, excellent written and verbal communication, and interpersonal skills. Sense of curiosity, commitment to serving others, and eagerness to learn and grow. Computer skills including Microsoft Office software. Familiarity with graphic design software, i.e. Adobe Photoshop, is a bonus. REQUIRED MATERIALS
