Job Description
Senior Manager
- Technical Sales (HPDC) PSW Group is a leading magnesium and aluminum manufacturer advancing nonferrous metal technologies. We are investing in a state-of-the-art Advanced Casting Technology Center which produces casting components using HPVDC, semi-solid casting, and other new technologies for aluminum and magnesium. We are seeking a Senior Manager
- Technical Sales (HPDC) to lead technical sales and services for our high-pressure die casting (HPDC) operations, serving as the senior technical interface to customers and partners.
Optimize die casting processes:
shot profile/shot program, gating/runner/overflow/vent/vacuum strategy, thermal management, cycle time, and overall equipment effectiveness (OEE). Provide tooling and die design guidance: DFM, parting line strategy, ejection, cooling layout, steel selection, coating, die life improvement, and tryout support. Utilize and/or guide simulation work (e.g., FLOW-3D/ProCAST/MAGMA
): filling/solidification/porosity prediction; translate results into actionable tooling and process changes.Own customer technical communication:
reviews, DFMEAs, APQP/PPAP technical inputs, launch readiness, issue resolution, and ongoing performance reporting. Build and maintain a strong external network with HPDC Tier 1s and OEMs; identify opportunities and bring customer/market insights back to internal teams. Lead all sales activities related to HPDC business, including pipeline development, customer engagement, quotations/technical proposals, and commercial coordination to drive revenue growth. Collaborate cross-functionally with Quality, Manufacturing, Tooling, R&D, and Sales to align technical execution with commercial objectives. Basic Qualifications (Required) BS/MS in Mechanical/Manufacturing/Materials/Metallurgical Engineering (or related). 5+ years hands-on experience in HPDC engineering (process, tooling, application, or technical service). Strong working knowledge of tooling/die design and DFM for castings. Demonstrated capability with 3D flow/solidification simulation and interpretation (e.g., FLOW-3D, MAGMA, ProCAST or equivalent). Deep understanding of shot program development (plunger profiles, fast/slow shot, intensification, vacuum timing, thermal control). Proven customer-facing experience and an established network with HPDC Tier 1s and automotive OEMs . Ability to travel as needed (customer sites, trials, launches). Preferred Qualifications Experience with semi-solid processing (thixomolding/rheocasting) in magnesium and/or aluminum . Exposure to aerospace casting requirements, specifications, and customer ecosystem; existing relationships a strong plus. Knowledge of vacuum die casting, squeeze/pore-free processes, heat treatment, machining implications, and coating/painting interfaces. Familiarity with APQP/PPAP, DFMEA/PFMEA, SPC, and structured problem-solving (8D, DMAIC). TRAVEL Domestic traveling ~30%WORK ENVIRONMENT
