Job Summary We are seeking a Senior Project Engineer to join our growing Solid Rocket Motor Engineering Team. The Senior Rocket Engineer will lead and coordinate project planning, resourcing, staffing, progress reporting and troubleshooting across multiple programs. The Senior Project Engineer will ensure project results meet requirements regarding technical quality, reliability, schedule and cost across all development phases and will lead customer-facing meetings. Impact of the Role General Profile Requires in-depth conceptual and practical knowledge in own job discipline and basic knowledge of related job disciplines Solves complex problems Works independently, receives minimal guidance May lead projects or project steps within a broader project or may have accountability for on-going activities or objectives Acts as a resource for colleagues with less experience Consistent exercise of discretion & judgment Essential Functions Performs engineering design evaluations and works to complete projects within budget and scheduling restraints. Reviews industry policies and procedures to ensure data accuracy, security, and regulatory compliance. Reviews reports of production, malfunction, and maintenance to determine or address problems. Provides technical support for the engineering process. Designs, implements, and communicates, an operational plan for completing the project. Monitors progress and performance against the project plan. Takes action to resolve operational problems and minimize delays. Identifies, develops, and gathers resources necessary to complete the project. Prepares engineering designs and work specifications. Develops project schedules, budgets, and forecasts. Selects materials, equipment, project staff, and external contractors. Required Qualifications Required education and experience: Associate's Degree and 5-7 years' experienceDiscipline/Major:
Engineering degree required Critical professional related technical skills; computer skills: Proficient in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint) Preferred Qualifications Preferred education and experience: Bachelor's Degree Knowledge, skills & abilities: Oral and written communication skills. Analytical thinking. Design review. Project engineering. Resource planning. Technical project management. Computer-Aided Engineering (CAE) software. Project management software. Physical Requirements Must be able to remain in a stationary position at a desk and/or computer for extended periods of time. Work primarily in a climate-controlled environment with minimal safety/health hazard potential. Travel Requirements Up to 25% travel likely. Pay Range (USD) $102,000-$138,000 Additional Compensation Hired applicant may be eligible to participate in the Company's Gain Sharing Program.
