Overview TRC is seeking a Senior Project Engineer for its Clifton Park, New York office. The selected candidate will also support projects and clients across other TRC New York offices, including Liverpool, West Seneca, and New York City. This is a senior technical and project leadership role requiring a versatile environmental engineering professional capable of managing diverse assignments across multiple disciplines while supporting client relationships, mentoring staff, and contributing to project success from proposal through completion. Responsibilities Lead and manage environmental engineering projects and technical tasks from proposal development through project completion. Develop and maintain strong client relationships while delivering high-quality technical solutions that meet project objectives, schedules, and budgets. Prepare and peer review proposals, scopes of work, and cost estimates to support accurate project execution and profitability goals. Provide technical leadership and project management support for a broad range of environmental projects, including field programs, data interpretation, and technical reporting. Collaborate with internal TRC disciplines, including Geotechnical, Building Sciences, Construction Management, and Air, to deliver integrated project solutions. Track and evaluate project progress, budgets, and schedules, implementing adjustments as needed to achieve project and company goals. Apply sound engineering and project management principles while communicating complex technical concepts to both technical and non-technical audiences. Independently plan, coordinate, execute, and manage both routine and complex projects within budget and schedule. Perform technical QA/QC reviews of engineering calculations, reports, and other project deliverables to ensure quality and consistency. Mentor, supervise, and support junior engineering staff through technical guidance and project development opportunities. Maintain visibility in the marketplace through participation in industry events, committees, and professional organizations. Stay current with industry trends, emerging technologies, and best practices in environmental engineering and consulting. Qualifications BS in Engineering required. Minimum 15 years of environmental engineering experience, including significant project engineering, proposal preparation, and budgeting responsibilities. Minimum 5 years of experience managing projects. Professional Engineer (PE) registration required. Experience performing QA/QC reviews of technical reports, engineering documents, calculations, and project deliverables. Demonstrated ability to manage diverse environmental engineering projects across multiple technical disciplines. Strong organizational and problem-solving skills, with a strong work ethic and positive attitude. Excellent analytical, report writing, and communication skills. Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a multi-disciplinary team environment. Experience with RCRA, TSCA, PBS/CBS, SPCCs, SWPPPs, solid waste, and SPDES preferred. Geotechnical engineering experience a plus. PMP certification a plus. Valid driver's license and ability to safely operate a motor vehicle. Willingness to travel as needed, including overnight travel and occasional work outside normal business hours. Compensation :
In accordance with local law, the below salary range is applicable for the job and location associated with this requisition. Compensation will vary based upon experience, education, skill level, geographical location, and other compensable factors.
Other Compensation:
Employee may be eligible for participation in the Company's annual Discretionary Bonus Program which is contingent on Company, Business Segment, and Individual performance against Key Performance Indicators which vary by year and employee.
