$24-$28 DOE Full-Time Alta Routesetters will represent and embody the values and ideals within the Alta Routesetting Program and understand that their primary responsibility is to provide a high-quality, enjoyable experience for our members and guests of all abilities and backgrounds. Alta Routesetters will make sure all the routes are SCALED for our members (Safety, Consistency, Accessibility, Learnability, Expression, and Diversity). As a Senior Routesetter, you will play a key leadership role in designing, setting, and maintaining challenging and creative climbing routes for all skill levels. You will also lead and mentor routesetters, ensuring that routes meet the highest standards of quality, safety, and innovation. The ideal candidates will have extensive route-setting experience, a deep understanding of climbing techniques, and a passion for providing an exceptional climbing experience.Requirements:
ROLES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Set high-quality commercial routes and boulder problems of all styles and difficulties. Effectively give and receive constructive feedback during all stages of the route setting process. Maintain and organize all setting holds, equipment, and workspaces to ensure safety, efficiency, and cleanliness. Meet setting quotas as determined by the Head Routesetter Adhere to company and industry safety Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) while setting. This includes but is not limited to SOPs relating to working on a ladder, a lift, and at height on a rope. Strip and wash holds on an as-needed basis. Contribute to Alta's customer service goals and understand that route setting, and all associated tasks, contribute to the overall customer experience Be professional and approachable at all times, in our language, actions, and interactions with peers and members Interact with members and guests on a daily basis in a way that supports positive growth in the climbing community. Actively contribute to a positive workplace and effective team environment Provide feedback and constructive criticism in a positive way to coworkers in the daily debrief Focus on compromise and empathy to solve challenges in the workplaceQUALIFICATIONS
Work effectively in a dynamic team environment and adhere to Alta's professional and high-quality route setting standards. The ability to forerun V5 boulder problems is preferred. The ability to forerun 5.12a routes is preferred. Possess a strong awareness of safe route setting practices. At least two years prior commercial setting experience is preferred. USA Climbing Level 1 or higher certification is preferred. Prior competition route setting experience is preferred. Comfortable speaking to and engaging with members of the community. Comfortable working at height and moving up and down a climbing wall and ladder. Continuously stand and walk on unstable and uneven surfaces for long periods of time. Able to understand and execute industry-approved work-at-height practices to ensure occupational safety. Able to repeatedly lift, move, and carry up to 50 lbs of weight on a regular basis Able to balance, kneel, pull, push, and grasp objects as needed.BENEFITS
