This role is ideal for a seasoned sales professional with a strong background in group sales and a proven ability to build and maintain meaningful client relationships. As a key member of our sales team, the Senior Sales Manager will be responsible for generating group room and F&B revenue from a variety of market segments including Corporate, SMERF, Association, Nonprofit, and Social. This position will play a vital role in expanding our client base, growing market share, and helping position Hotel Maya as Long Beach's premier waterfront destination.
Key Responsibilities:
Proactively solicit new group business through outbound sales efforts, including calls, site visits, tradeshows, and networking. Cultivate and manage relationships with key accounts and repeat clients, ensuring exceptional service and high levels of satisfaction. Leverage your existing network and industry contacts to drive group bookings and long-term partnerships. Manage the entire group sales cycle—from lead generation and proposal development to contract negotiation, event coordination, and rebooking. Collaborate closely with internal departments to ensure seamless event execution and memorable guest experiences. Consistently meet or exceed individual and team sales goals. Maintain accurate records of sales activities, client interactions, and lead progress in systems such as Delphi.fdc and Opera.Qualifications:
Minimum 3-5 years of experience in hotel group sales or a similar role; experience in the Long Beach/SoCal market or independent properties preferred. Demonstrated success in building and maintaining long-term client relationships and securing repeat group business. Strong negotiation and closing skills with a results-driven mindset. Excellent written and verbal communication skills, along with strong interpersonal abilities. Ability to multitask, prioritize effectively, and remain calm under pressure. Must be a self-starter who thrives both independently and as part of a collaborative team. Willingness to attend industry events, host site tours, and travel and represent Hotel Maya at off-site meetings and tradeshows.Pay:
