Senior Structures Estimator - Heavy Civil Construction

Hazard Construction is a longtime San Diego based General Engineering Contractor, specializing in heavy civil construction. We are currently seeking a Senior Structures Estimator with 10+ years of experience in road improvement estimating and project management. Hazard Construction Companies is currently seeking a full time Senior Estimator with 10+ years of experience in road improvement estimating and project management. This position requires technical experience in Structural Concrete including forming systems and CIP Post Tensioned bridge structure, Structure Excavation & Backfill, AC Paving, and Underground. Familiarity with Caltrans public works specifications and bidding is a must. Strong crew based estimating techniques, as well as an ability to interpret cost data and systems is essential. The ideal candidate must be proactive, detail oriented, analytical, organized, an innovative team player and able to meet established deadlines. Hard Dollar and Primavera P6 scheduling software experience are a plus. Key Objectives to include but not limited to: Review and analyze specifications, and other documentation presented by the client, to accurately prepare and estimate projects. Prepare detail oriented and accurate estimates on new projects and estimate prices for any change orders on existing contracts, meeting assigned deadlines. Prepare all estimate documents in coordination with Contract Administrators. Read and interpret job bid instructions, detailed specifications, estimate all necessary labor, materials, buyout items, equipment costs to prepare a through price estimate. Work directly with internal teams to understand size and scope of projects along with timelines and applicable project deadlines. Work Environment • This position is generally indoors in a climate-controlled office. Off-site meetings may be required.
