Senior Tax Accountant for Fast-Growing CPA Firm in
St Petersburg Position Overview:
As a Senior Tax Accountant at our fast-growing CPA firm located in St Petersburg, you will assume a leadership role in providing expert tax services to our diverse client base. You will be responsible for overseeing the tax preparation process, conducting in-depth tax research, and serving as a mentor to junior staff. Key Responsibilities:
Tax Strategy and Planning:
Work closely with clients to develop tax strategies that align with their financial goals, minimize tax liabilities, and ensure compliance with current tax laws and regulations.
Tax Return Preparation:
Lead the preparation and review of complex individual, business, and corporate tax returns, including 1040, 1065, 1120, and 1120S forms, ensuring accuracy, adherence to regulations, and maximizing tax advantages.
Client Engagement:
Serve as the primary point of contact for select clients, providing comprehensive tax advice, answering complex inquiries, and fostering strong client relationships.
Research and Interpretation:
Stay abreast of the latest tax laws, regulations, and changes that may impact clients. Conduct in-depth research and analysis to identify tax-saving opportunities and provide guidance to clients.
Supervision and Training:
Mentor and supervise junior staff, providing guidance, training, and review of their work to ensure high-quality tax services and their professional growth.
Documentation and Compliance:
Maintain meticulous records of client information, tax documents, and communication to ensure accurate and timely tax filings while ensuring compliance with firm standards and regulations.
Quality Control:
Perform rigorous quality reviews of tax returns to uphold accuracy, completeness, and compliance with regulatory requirements and firm standards.
Project Management:
Manage multiple client engagements simultaneously, allocate resources effectively, and ensure that all tax-related tasks are completed efficiently and meet deadlines.
Professional Development:
Stay up-to-date with industry trends, attend relevant seminars, and pursue continuous professional development to enhance your expertise.
Software Utilization:
Utilize advanced tax preparation software (such as CCH ProSystem fx, UltraTax, or similar) to input, calculate, and review complex tax information.
Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field. CPA certification or Enrolled Agent (EA) designation is a plus. Minimum of 2-4 years of progressive experience in tax preparation within a CPA firm or similar environment. Exceptional knowledge of tax laws, regulations, and compliance requirements. Proficiency in tax software and accounting software. Strong analytical skills and attention to detail. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills. Demonstrated ability to lead and mentor a team. Outstanding organizational and time management abilities. Adaptability to evolving tax laws and industry dynamics. Uphold ethical and professional conduct in all interactions.
