Server - Banquets (On-Call) 3.6 3.6 out of 5 stars 49500 Seminole Drive, Cabazon, CA 92230 Morongo Casino Resort & Spa 313 reviews The Banquet Server is responsible for providing exceptional food and beverage service during banquet events, meetings, and special functions. This role ensures that guests receive prompt, courteous, and professional service in accordance with established service standards.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Serves food and beverages to guests in a timely, professional, and courteous manner. Ensures proper serving techniques are followed during all functions. Delivers a fine dining experience by anticipating guest needs and exceeding expectations. Prepares workstations by stocking necessary supplies, maintaining cleanliness, and ensuring readiness for service. Busses and resets tables as needed throughout events. Follows all sanitation, health, and safety procedures. Communicates effectively with kitchen and service team to ensure efficient service. Performs other job-related duties as assigned.
SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES
This position does not have direct supervisory responsibilities but may provide guidance or support to other team members.
QUALIFICATIONS
Excellent verbal communication and guest service skills. Ability to work well in a team-oriented environment. High level of professionalism and attention to detail. Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to tactfully and diplomatically interact with guests and team members. Must possess a high regard for guest service and hospitality. EDUCATION and/or
EXPERIENCE
High school diploma or equivalent preferred. Coursework in hospitality, food & beverage service, or customer service is a plus. Minimum of 1 year of food and beverage service experience required; banquet or catering experience preferred. Familiarity with banquet event orders (BEOs), room setups, and service timing. Experience in serving plated meals, buffets, and beverages in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment. Knowledge of food safety, sanitation standards, and basic wine and beverage service. Prior experience in a hotel, resort, casino, or event venue strongly preferred. Ability to lift and carry trays, stand for extended periods, and follow detailed service instructions. Strong communication and customer service skills with a professional and courteous demeanor.
LICENSES, CERTIFICATES, REGISTRATIONS
Must have successfully completed a background check and obtained a gaming license issued by the Morongo Gaming Agency, as required.
LANGUAGE SKILLS
Must be able to read and interpret documents in English, such as instructions, guidelines, policies, and procedures. Must also be able to communicate clearly and effectively with team members, management, and guests.

Communication Skills:

Frequently lifts and carries trays of food, beverages, banquet supplies, and tableware weighing up to 50 pounds; may also assist with setting up or breaking down tables and chairs.
Manual Dexterity:
Constantly uses hands and fingers to carry trays, set tables, serve plates, pour beverages, and handle service tools with speed and precision.
Mobility:
Continuously moves throughout banquet areas, kitchens, and service corridors; requires standing, walking, bending, lifting, reaching, and navigating crowded areas for extended periods.
Stationary Work:
Rarely remains seated; position involves prolonged periods of standing and active movement throughout events.
Tool Operation:
Frequent use of service trays, beverage dispensers, coffee machines, silverware, and other banquet service tools; occasional use of POS terminals or handheld devices.
Visual Acuity:
Requires near vision to serve accurately, read banquet event orders, and monitor guest needs; far vision needed to navigate event spaces and observe room flow.
Working Conditions:
Routinely works in high-paced banquet environments with exposure to crowded service areas, fluctuating noise levels, kitchen heat, and cleaning chemicals. Regular exposure to a smoking environment while transitioning through casino or public spaces.
WORK ENVIRONMENT
This is a dynamic, fast-paced environment that requires the ability to adapt and perform under pressure. The casino operates with moderate to loud noise levels and is a smoking environment, requiring team members to work comfortably in these conditions.
WORKING HOURS
Morongo Casino Resort & Spa operates 24 hours a day, 365 days a year; therefore, flexibility in scheduling is essential. Team members must be available to work shifts that may include evenings, weekends, holidays, and special events. Schedules are subject to change based on business needs and may include overtime, as well as work on both weekdays and weekends.
