Waiter Job Description This role supports two dining facilities within an all-inclusive Golden Years living community by providing attentive table service and a welcoming dining experience for residents and guests. You will work in a customer-facing position, taking orders, delivering food, and maintaining a clean and comfortable dining room while consistently delivering prompt, courteous, and efficient service. Responsibilities Provide prompt, courteous, and professional table service to residents and guests in the main dining facilities of a Golden Years living community. Greet customers warmly, present menus, and accurately take food and beverage orders. Run food from the kitchen to the dining room, ensuring timely and accurate delivery of orders. Bus tables efficiently by clearing dishes, glassware, and utensils, and resetting tables for the next guests. Maintain a clean, organized, and safe dining area throughout service. Respond quickly and attentively to customer requests, questions, and concerns. Ensure each guest receives efficient and attentive service that aims to exceed their expectations. Collaborate with other dining room staff and kitchen team members to support smooth and efficient service. Follow all dining room procedures and guidelines specific to a Golden Years living facility environment. Essential Skills Proven customer service experience in a customer-facing role. Strong customer service orientation with a genuine desire to provide attentive and courteous service. Experience in the food service or restaurant industry is a plus. Ability to take orders accurately, run food, and bus tables in a fast-paced dining environment. Clear and professional communication skills when interacting with residents, guests, and team members. Reliability and flexibility to work a rotating schedule of 5-6 shifts per week. Comfort working directly with Golden Year residents in a Golden Year living facility setting. Additional Skills & Qualifications Background in food service, hospitality, or restaurant environments is highly beneficial. Strong teamwork skills and the ability to coordinate with dining and kitchen staff. Attention to detail in order accuracy, table cleanliness, and overall guest experience. Work Environment The position is based in the dining halls of a Golden Year living facility, serving residents and their guests in a structured and professional environment. You will work primarily on a second shift schedule from 3:30 p.m. to 8:30 p.m., on a rotating basis 5 days per week, for a total of 5-6 shifts weekly. The role is highly customer-facing, requiring continuous interaction with Golden Year residents in a communal dining setting. The dress code includes black pants and black non-slip shoes to ensure a clean, professional appearance and safe movement in the dining and service areas. Job Type & Location This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Laguna Woods, CA. Pay and Benefits The pay range for this position is $23.94 - $23.94/hr.
