Summary/objective Texarkana Tractor Company manages thirteen dealerships, comprising ten Kubota dealerships and three New Holland dealerships throughout east Texas and central Arkansas. Position Summary The Service Manager is responsible for leading and managing all aspects of the service department for our agricultural equipment operations. This role ensures efficient shop operations, high-quality repairs, strong customer satisfaction, and profitability. The Service Manager drives technician productivity, labor sales, and departmental performance while maintaining safety and compliance standards. Key Responsibilities Department Leadership Oversee daily operations of the service department (shop and field service) Lead, coach, and develop service staff including technicians and service writers Establish schedules, assign work, and manage workflow Promote a culture of safety, accountability, and continuous improvement Operational Efficiency Manage shop workflow to maximize technician productivity and efficiency Monitor and improve labor utilization and billed hours Ensure timely completion of work orders and minimize downtime Balance workload between in-shop and field service technicians Financial Performance Drive service revenue and profitability Monitor labor rates, margins, and cost controls Manage department expenses and budgets Improve labor sales, recovery rates, and overall absorption Customer Service Ensure exceptional customer experience and communication Resolve escalated customer concerns quickly and professionally Maintain strong relationships with key customers and accounts Ensure accurate estimates and timely updates on repairs Warranty & Compliance Oversee warranty claim processes and ensure timely submission Ensure compliance with OEM guidelines and policies Maintain accurate documentation and service records Parts & Interdepartmental Coordination Work closely with Parts Manager to ensure parts availability Coordinate with Sales to support equipment delivery and setup Align service capacity with sales and seasonal demand Quality Control Ensure repairs meet manufacturer standards and quality expectations Implement inspection and quality assurance processes Reduce rework and comebacks Safety & Facility Management Enforce safety policies and OSHA compliance Maintain a clean, organized, and efficient shop environment Ensure proper use and maintenance of tools and equipment Process Improvement Identify and implement operational improvements Utilize service management systems (ERP/DMS) effectively Track and analyze performance metrics to drive decisions Qualifications Education & Experience High school diploma required; technical degree preferred 3+ years of service experience in agriculture or heavy equipment 3+ years in a supervisory or management role Skills & Competencies Strong technical knowledge of agricultural equipment Proven leadership and team management skills Financial acumen (labor rates, margins, absorption) Excellent communication and customer service skills Strong problem-solving and decision-making ability Proficiency in ERP/DMS systems and Microsoft Office Work Environment & Expectations Fast-paced dealership environment Combination of office, shop, and field oversight Seasonal peaks (planting and harvest) may require extended hours On-call or after-hours support as needed
Pay:
$50,000.00 - $70,000.00 per year
