The ideal candidate will be responsible for diagnosing, repairing, and maintaining various types of mobility equipment, including scooters, wheelchairs, hospital beds and lift chairs and rollators. This role will also deliver, set up mobility equipment and teach customers and caregivers the proper use of the equipment. This candidate will also cross train to assist, as needed, with sales and rentals in our showroom. While we welcome early career candidates, this role requires a strong understanding of technical systems, the ability to work independently, and communicate effectively with clients and the Mobility City team. The Service Technician plays a crucial role in ensuring customer satisfaction through high-quality service delivery. This technician is team and growth oriented with an entrepreneurial mindset. Mobility equipment service experience is less important than attitude and technical aptitude. Duties Perform diagnostics, repairs, and preventative maintenance on mobility products, including power scooters, wheelchairs, lift chairs, ramps and other related equipment. Ensure all repairs meet company and manufacturer standards for safety and quality. Utilize tools to troubleshoot electrical, mechanical, and structural issues with mobility equipment. Conduct routine maintenance services, including battery checks, part replacement and adjustments to ensure optimal performance. Interact directly with customers to assess their needs, explain services and provide appropriate recommendations. Demonstrate excellent customer service. Arrive on time to store, participate in morning huddle and service call planning. Follow all safety protocols to ensure a safe work environment. Make and grow relationships with key personnel at Skilled Nursing Facilities, Hospitals, etc. Swing to customer service and support of sales and rental team using the shop CRM, POS and scheduling app. Skills Experience in field service roles, demonstrating the ability to work independently in diverse environments. Previous experience in bike repair, mechanical repair, electrical systems, or working with mobility equipment is preferred. Strong problem-solving skills with the ability to design and build effective solutions to meet company and manufacturer standards, safety, and customer needs. Excellent communication skills to interact effectively with customers and team members. Team player, entrepreneurial, compassionate, wanting to serve people with mobility limitations. Be open to diversity and treat all persons with respect, care and dignity. Qualitications High school diploma or equivalent; technical certifications or training in related fields (e.g. bike mechanic, automotive repair, electrical systems, etc.) A valid driver's license is required for driving the company van to job sites. Physical Requirements Ability to lift and carry up to 50 pounds, including mobility devices and parts. Ability to kneel, bend, and work in various positions for extended periods. Comfortable working in a variety of settings, including homes, hospitals and nursing facilities.
