Job Description

2285 US-321, Hampton TN Rockingham Marine is looking for a motivated Marine Technician to join our team. This is a flat rate position with performance incentives. We are looking for someone who can efficiently diagnose, repair, rig, and service boats while maintaining attention to detail and quality workmanship. Please note that marine service occasionally requires operational assistance such as moving boats, launch/retrieval assistance, staging units, water testing, and dealership support tasks. During these times, billed hours may be reduced accordingly.
Key Responsibilities:
Perform diagnostic, repair, and maintenance tasks on marine vessels and equipment, including engines, electrical systems, fuel systems, and other components. Inspect and assess the condition of vessels and equipment to determine the required maintenance or repairs, providing accurate and detailed estimates for time and cost. Use specialized tools, equipment, and diagnostic software to troubleshoot and resolve complex technical issues. Install and configure new equipment, accessories, and upgrades, ensuring proper fit and functionality. Maintain detailed records of completed work orders, including parts used, labor hours, and any additional recommendations for the customer. Collaborate with the service advisor and other team members to provide timely and accurate updates on repair progress and completion. Stay current on industry trends, technological advancements, and manufacturer updates through ongoing training and development programs. Provide technical support and guidance to customers and other team members, as needed. Assist with boat deliveries, pickups, and transportation, as necessary. Perform other tasks and duties as assigned by the service manager or dealership management. Expected to work 30-40 hours a week.
Qualifications:
Minimum of 2-3 years of experience as a marine or automotive technician, with a focus on diagnosing and repairing marine engines and systems. Certification from a recognized marine manufacturer or technical training program is a plus. Excellent problem-solving skills, attention to detail, and commitment to delivering high-quality work. Proficiency with computer systems, including industry-specific diagnostic software. Ability to work independently and as part of a team, effectively managing time and resources. Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to professionally interact with customers and team members. Valid driver's license and a clean driving record; ability to operate and transport various types of marine vessels is a plus.
Pay:
$20.00 - $40.00 per hour
