For the continued expansion of its North American operations, PlanET is looking for a Service Technician to join our team. Reporting to the Maintenance Manager, the selected candidate will be expected respond to service and maintenance related calls throughout the United States.
Responsibilities:
Respond promptly to service-related calls with a strong focus on quality and customer satisfaction Perform routine maintenance, inspections, and overhauls on equipment Work on pressure piping, compressors, pumps, and sensor systems Operate heavy machinery, including excavators, skid steers, and loaders, to support plant operations and maintenance activities Follow up with clients to ensure optimal plant performance Document completed work and plan preventative maintenance activities Ensure inventory levels meet operational and customer needs Maintain compliance with all federal, state, and local codes, as well as company policies Track and resolve deficiency items in a timely manner Mentor team members when appropriate Manage inventory, including ordering, organizing, and storage Prepare and verify outgoing shipments for accuracy Receive and inspect incoming materials, reporting any defects Perform other duties as assigned
Qualifications:
3-5 years of experience in a service and warranty environment Background in agriculture or wastewater treatment considered an asset Experience operating heavy machinery (e.g., excavators, skid steers, loaders) Functional knowledge of mechanical components (valves, compressors, pipe fittings, bearings, motors, gearboxes, etc.) Ability to read and interpret mechanical, pneumatic, and hydraulic blueprints and schematics Strong mechanical repair and troubleshooting skills Excellent organizational skills with the ability to meet tight deadlines Willingness to travel frequently (up to 75%) Results-driven with strong attention to detail Self-starter with the ability to work independently Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite Valid driver's license and eligibility to work in Canada and the
United States Working Conditions:
This job operates both indoors and outdoors in areas that are not environmentally controlled. This job may be exposed to weather or undercover and in close physical proximity with others. Exposure to hazardous conditions and equipment.
Physical Requirements:
The worker is required to have close visual acuity to perform an activity such as: preparing and analyzing data and figures; transcribing; viewing a computer terminal; extensive reading; visual inspection involving small defects, small parts, and/or operation of machines. Must be able to sit and/or stand for up to 8 hours a day. Spend time bending, kneeling, crouching, reaching, pulling, pushing, lifting, grasping, or twisting the body. Exerting up to 50 pounds of force occasionally, and/or up to 20 pounds of force frequently, and/or up to 10 pounds of force constantly to move objects. Ability to obtain SCBA qualification physical
