SERVICE WRITER

We are seeking an organized and customer-focused Service Writer to join our team. As the face of our service department, you will be the vital link between our customers and our service technicians. You will greet customers, document their initial vehicle needs & concerns, schedule service appointments, write up detailed work orders, and keep clients informed throughout the repair process.

Key Responsibilities Customer Service:

Greet all customers professionally. Provide excellent customer service by listening to the customers' concerns, and accurately document their requests into clear, detailed work orders. Answer customer calls promptly, courteously & professionally.

Updates:

Provide customers with estimates and inspection results in a timely manner. Maintain consistent communications as to status updates.

Service Scheduling:

Manage the service department's daily calendar, balancing customer urgency with shop capacity to maximize technician efficiency.

Estimate & Upsell:

Create accurate cost estimates for parts and labor. Confidently explain repair recommendations and look for opportunities to suggest routine maintenance, upgrades, or accessories.

Liaison:

Act as the primary communication bridge between the customer and the service technicians. Translate complex mechanical issues into easy-to-understand language for the client.

Warranty Administration:

Process and Manage warranty claim submissions with manufacturers (e.g., Polaris, Can-Am, Yamaha, Honda).

Quality & Delivery:

Review completed work orders, ensure the vehicle is ready for pickup, explain the final invoice to the customer, and handle payments.

Qualifications & Skills Experience:

1-2 years of experience as a Service Advisor/Writer in the automotive, marine, or powersports industries is highly preferred (but we will train the right candidate with strong customer service roots).

Industry Passion:

A solid understanding of or passion for powersports vehicles (motorcycles, ATVs, side-by-sides, PWCs, snowmobiles) is a major plus.

Communication Master:

Excellent verbal and written communication skills with the ability to maintain a positive attitude under pressure.

Tech-Savvy:

Proficiency with dealership management software (DMS) (e.g., Lightspeed, DX1) and basic computer applications is highly preferred.

Detail-Oriented:

Exceptional organizational skills to manage multiple work orders, parts statuses, and customer updates simultaneously.

Licensing:

Valid driver's license with a motorcycle endorsement is a plus (or willingness to obtain one). What We Offer Competitive base hourly wage plus performance-based commission/bonus structure. Will have constant communications with sales and parts departments regarding PDI's, warranty parts and customer RO parts. Must be willing to work Saturdays (our busiest day for riders!) and occasionally do overtime. Dynamic environment split between the service desk and checking vehicles on the service lot.

Pay:

$40,000.00 - $65,000.00 per year
