To Be Determined Job Description USD 480 in Liberal, KS is currently accepting coaching applications for multiple positions. Preference will be given to those candidates who have or are eligible for a current Kansas teaching license (teaching assignment to be determined). Professionalism and Administrative Duties Communications must follow the chain of command per Board Policy. Follow KSHSAA guidelines and rules. Ensure all individuals will represent USD480 appropriately per Board policies while on activity-related business. Exhibit professional treatment of all officials, workers, and opponents. Ensure students have required forms submitted prior to their participation. Create activity-specific guidelines, including a schedule of events and practices, and discuss with evaluator prior to the start of the activity. Conduct a parent meeting if required by evaluator (see evaluation list) Provide evaluator with updated rosters before activity and as rosters change throughout the year. Support and follow eligibility guidelines per Board Policy. Students must be supervised before/after all activity periods, never left unattended after events on or off school grounds. Report activity results as required by Activities Director Cooperate with evaluator in providing input or communication regarding the scheduling of events. Coordinate publicity materials about the activity (interviews, reports, etc.) with the assistance of the Activities Director Supervise and support assistants during activity time. See that all assistants know their roles and duties regarding the activity. Follow policies and procedures per Board Policy Attend all activity/athletic department meetings or makes arrangements with evaluator prior to the meeting date. Perform evaluation of assistants (if necessary) within the required time frame. Travel Procedures for travel requests and actual travel are completed per District Procedure/Board Policy Procedures for procurement and return of travel funds are followed per District Procedure Supervision on trips and bussing rules are followed per Student Handbook policy Facilities & Equipment Maintain an updated inventory of all activity uniforms, equipment, set-pieces, etc. Check out equipment to students/assistants per Activity Director's guidelines Instruct students and assistants on proper use and care of equipment. Follow all policies for facility and key/key card use per Faculty Handbook Follow policies and procedures for scheduling facilities per District Policy to include but not limited to any volunteer practices/camps. Practice (Rehearsal) & Competition Practice frequency, length, and time should follow guidelines as defined in KSHSAA guidelines Plan, supervise, and conduct all practice sessions or ensure an assistant is doing so. Keep daily attendance records. Keep, maintain, and report all relevant statistics and letters/awards per the Activity Director. See that all athletic injuries are cared for in a professional manner. Accompany or ensure an assistant accompanies squads to and from all events unless alternate supervision duties are approved by an evaluator. Budget & Fundraising Cooperate with the evaluator on all decisions regarding the purchasing of equipment or supplies. Follow all fundraising procedures as described in the KSHSAA and Board Policy Work within the budget provided by USD 480
