• Create a collaborative and nurturing environment for students to learn and take risks
• Certified Elementary Music Teacher to teach music class to students in grades kindergarten through second grade.
• Provide an atmosphere and environment conducive to the physical, social, and emotional development of students
• Plan and deliver engaging music lessons aligned with school and state standards.
• Utilizes repertoire of all types of music literature, including traditional and contemporary, that are appropriate for the ages and skill levels of students.
• Incorporate singing, movement, games, storytelling, and play-based learning into instruction.
• Differentiate instruction to meet the diverse learning needs of all students.
• Familiarity with Massachusetts DESE Music Standards
• Ability to adapt the curriculum to the needs of students with varying special needs and musical abilities and to accommodate a variety of instructional activities
• Strong interpersonal and collaboration skills with the ability to communicate effectively and respectfully with students, families, and staff.
• Plan the end-of-year concert for grade 2 students
• Other responsibilities assigned by the building administration
