  • Job Description
  • This role involves installing, fabricating, and modifying commercial sheet metal duct systems on a large healthcare construction project. You will work with stainless steel and galvanized ductwork, interpret blueprints, and perform both new construction and retrofit work while collaborating closely with crews and customers on site.

  • Responsibilities
  • + Install, hang, and secure stainless steel and galvanized sheet metal ductwork on a commercial construction site.
+ Fabricate duct sections and fittings to meet project specifications and field conditions. + Install VAV (Variable Air Volume) boxes and associated components in accordance with plans and codes. + Perform retrofit work, including modifications and additions to existing duct systems. + Support AC installations, including related piping and controls, as needed. + Interpret blueprints and mechanical drawings to determine duct layouts and installation requirements. + Complete accurate duct layouts and measurements in the field when required. + Coordinate work with other trades and construction teams to ensure efficient installation and minimal rework. + Communicate effectively with crew members and customers to clarify scope, resolve issues, and provide status updates. + Follow all safety protocols, including the consistent use of required PPE, and maintain a clean and organized work area. + Attend required on-site orientations and comply with all general contractor and site-specific rules.
  • Essential Skills
  • + Minimum of 6 years of experience with commercial sheet metal work.
+ At least 5 years of experience working on commercial construction sites. + Hands-on experience installing, hanging, and fabricating ductwork, including stainless steel and galvanized duct. + Proficiency in installing VAV boxes and related duct components. + Experience with retrofit work, AC installations, piping, and controls. + Ability to read and interpret blueprints and mechanical drawings. + Capability to complete duct layouts in the field when needed. + Strong communication skills to interact effectively with crews and customers. + Reliable transportation to and from the job site.
  • Additional Skills & Qualifications
  • + Ability to braze copper is a strong plus. + Familiarity with commercial construction practices and coordination with other trades. + Demonstrated ability to work safely and follow site-specific safety procedures.

  • Pay and Benefits
  • The pay range for this position is $20.00 - $30.00/hr. Eligibility requirements apply to some benefits and may depend on your jobclassification and length of employment.
