Shelter/Thrift Store Attendant

At SCAA we are dedicated to being faithful stewards for all abandoned, lost, homeless, and abused animals entrusted to our care in Boundary County. Our ultimate goal is to find lifelong, loving homes for every animal through our no kill animal shelter approach, ensuring that each one gets a second chance. Job Description This is a cross-trained position for both the thrift store and animal shelter. The thrift store attendant is responsible for delivering exceptional customer service and processing inventory donated by the public. Their role includes ensuring customer satisfaction, building strong relationships, resolving issues, providing accurate information about our store and shelter, as well as inventory management. The shelter attendant ensures the daily care, feeding, and cleanliness of sheltered animals while managing kennel sanitation, exercising animals, and assisting with adoptions. They monitor animal health and behavior, report illness, and provide customer service to the public. This role requires physical stamina, compassion, and the ability to handle stressed or injured animals safely.
