Company Overview Right There Travel Centers is an independently owned convenience store and gas station located in the Valley View area of Jonesboro, Arkansas. Position Summary The Shift Supervisor is responsible for overseeing the daily operations of the store during their shift, including managing and training staff, ensuring excellent customer service, handling cashier and fuel attendant duties, and ensuring the store is clean, organized, and operating efficiently. This role requires leadership skills, multitasking, and a hands-on approach to managing customer interactions and store operations. Essential Duties and Responsibilities - The essential functions include, but are not limited to the following:

Leadership and Supervision:

Supervise and motivate team members, including cashiers, food servers, and fuel attendants, to ensure efficient store operations. Provide guidance and training to employees on store policies, safety standards, customer service, and job responsibilities. Manage the performance of staff during shifts, including delegating tasks and providing feedback to improve job performance. Ensure that all employees are adhering to company policies, health, and safety regulations. Handle customer complaints and concerns in a professional and timely manner, escalating issues to management as necessary. Operational Duties (Cashier, Food Server, Fuel Attendant):

Cashier:

Operate the cash register and ensure accurate transactions, including processing payments and verifying customer identification for age-restricted items. Assist customers with purchases and provide excellent customer service.

Food Server:

Prepare and serve food items according to store guidelines. Ensure food quality and cleanliness in the service area. Monitor food inventory and ensure that the area is restocked as necessary.

Fuel Attendant:

Assist customers with fueling, provide safety instructions, monitor pumps for any issues, and maintain the fuel area's cleanliness and safety. Ensure that the fuel area complies with safety standards.

Store Operations and Maintenance:

Ensure the store is clean, organized, and fully stocked at all times. Oversee restocking of shelves, cleaning, and organization of product displays. Conduct regular inventory checks to ensure stock levels are adequate, and report any shortages to the Store Manager. Enforce safety and security protocols to ensure the safety of employees and customers. Open and close the store, including performing cash reconciliation and ensuring the store is secure at the end of the shift.

Customer Service:

Provide excellent customer service by greeting customers, answering questions, and assisting with product selections. Resolve customer complaints and issues, striving for a positive and efficient resolution. Minimum Qualifications (Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities) Previous supervisory or retail experience preferred. Strong leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills. Ability to manage multiple tasks and prioritize effectively. Knowledge of cash handling, food safety, and fuel station safety. Ability to lift up to 30 pounds and stand for extended periods. Ability to work in a fast-paced, dynamic environment. Flexibility to work nights, weekends, and holidays.

Working Conditions Environment:

You will be working both indoors and outdoors, with exposure to varying weather conditions.

Physical Requirements:

The job requires standing for long periods, lifting items, and moving around the store and outside store grounds.

Schedule:

Flexibility is required as shifts may include evenings, weekends, and holidays.
