The Shift Supervisor coordinates the daily activities of the Production Team to achieve maximum productivity and efficiency while developing a team environment. Provides for a safe work environment through proper training and ensures product quality by utilizing statistical methods to control production processes Responsibilities Have exemplary personal conduct that demonstrates integrity, commitment, judgement and courtesy to all co-workers, customers and vendors. Promote and support highest level of safety, both personally and with others, throughout daily activities. Support the development of lean manufacturing processes; continuous improvement, standard work, visual controls, value stream mapping, training and employee involvement. Select and apply appropriate continuous Improvement tools aimed at improving line capacity, production line efficiency, process reliability, mean time between failure and other key measures. Drive lean training and implement a lean toolkit utilizing PDCA; quick changeovers; operator care, Kaizen, problem solving, 5S, etc. Actively reinforces key continuous improvement concepts through coaching and auditing across the organization. Demonstrate high energy and professional confidence and the ability to drive results. Communicate effectively with other departments and internal and external customers. Works with Maintenance and Process Engineering Departments to establish operational "Best Practices." Takes actions to control emergency situations and ensures appropriate management personnel are notified. Be solely responsible for the plant in the absence of manufacturing managers and other staff members. Qualifications Must have a High School Diploma or GED. Bachelor's Degree in Engineering or a technical field is preferred. Must have at least three years of manufacturing experience (plastic manufacturing is a plus). Three years of front line supervisory experience in a manufacturing facility is strongly preferred but a combination of manufacturing experience, line leadership experience, and/or education would satisfy this requirement. A working knowledge of Lean Manufacturing is preferred. Experience leading problem solving and/or continuous improvement teams is preferred.
