As a Shipping Clerk, you'll prepare and ship customer orders, coordinate with carriers, and keep our workflow on track. Shipping Clerk Responsibilities include but are not limited to:

• Prioritize sales orders: Organize orders by fulfillment priority based on customer deadlines and shipping method; distribute work to Shipping Operators
• Submit transportation requests: Enter shipments into customer TMS portals when required
• Generate shipping documentation: Create bills of lading, carrier labels, and other required paperwork using company software
• Coordinate carrier pickups: Schedule pickups with UPS, FedEx, freight carriers, and others
• Maintain shipping records: Keep accurate logs for traceability, compliance, and audits
• Inspect outgoing goods: Verify labeling, packaging, and product condition meet quality standards
• Communicate with internal teams: Work with production, quality, and customer service to ensure timely shipments
• Resolve shipment issues: Address lost, delayed, or incorrect deliveries and support customer complaint resolution
• Maintain 5S standards: Keep the shipping area clean, organized, and audit-ready
• Support inventory control: Assist with cycle counts and materials tracking
• Prepare and package products: Package and label shipments according to customer and carrier specifications
• Verify shipment accuracy: Confirm contents match packing lists, invoices, or work orders
• Operate material handling equipment: Use forklifts, pallet jacks, and related equipment safely
• Assist with truck loading/unloading: Support dock operations as needed

Shipping Clerk Requirements:

• High school diploma or equivalent required
• Forklift certification or willingness to obtain
• Equipment operation experience preferred
• 1-3 years of experience in shipping, warehouse, or logistics required
• Attention to detail and accuracy
• Basic computer proficiency, including UPS WorldShip, FedEx Ship Manager, and ERP systems
• Ability to interpret documentation such as shipping instructions and work orders
• Strong communication and teamwork skills
• RF scanner use
• Ability to read work orders
• Self-directed, independent, and communicative
• Ability to work in a fast-paced manufacturing environment
• Ability to stand for long periods (8 hours)
• Ability to lift, push, pull, and move up to 50 pounds
• Ability to grasp, move, or assemble objects using one or both hands
• Quick reaction time using hands, fingers, or feet
• Ability to make fast, repetitive movements of hands, fingers, and wrists
• Ability to remain physically active for long durations
• Mandatory overtime may be required based on production and shipping demands
