Job Title:
Shipping and Receiving Clerk Job Description This role focuses on accurately packaging, labeling, and shipping products while supporting general warehouse operations. You will prepare outgoing shipments, receive incoming goods, maintain inventory control, and ensure all documentation and system entries are completed correctly. The position requires attention to detail, safe material handling, and effective use of warehouse systems and equipment to keep products moving efficiently and on time. Responsibilities Package items by following detailed instructions on process sheets to ensure accuracy and product protection. Print and apply labels to products and packages according to specifications and shipping requirements. Weigh packages and record accurate weights for shipping and documentation purposes. Safely handle and lift items up to 70 lbs. without restrictions, using proper lifting techniques. Load and unload trucks efficiently and safely, ensuring products are handled with care. Read and interpret blueprints as needed to verify product specifications and packaging requirements. Clock in and out of the E.10 system and accurately record work time. Move and adjust parts within the E.10 system to reflect correct locations and status. Band and wrap shipments securely to prevent damage during transit. Record data on process sheets and shipping documents, including ship advisories, to maintain accurate records. Report labor and production activities in the E.10 system in a timely and accurate manner. Receive products in the E.10 system, including verifying quantities and inspecting for visible damage. Fulfill orders by pulling inventory from shelves and staging items for shipment. Create Bills of Lading and compare them against actual merchandise to ensure accuracy before shipment. Maintain inventory control by monitoring stock levels, organizing materials, and reporting discrepancies. Create shipments within the shipping system and ensure all documentation is complete and correct. Monitor merchandise leaving the warehouse to ensure it matches shipping documents and quality standards. Track shipment delivery status when needed and assist in resolving shipping issues or discrepancies. Follow all safety procedures and use required personal protective equipment while performing warehouse and shipping duties. Essential Skills Experience with shipping and receiving operations in a warehouse or manufacturing environment. Ability to properly package items following written instructions and process sheets. Skill in weighing packages and recording accurate measurements for shipping. Ability to safely handle and lift up to 70 lbs. without restrictions. Experience loading and unloading trucks in a safe and efficient manner. Basic blueprint reading skills to verify product and packaging requirements. Familiarity with using an E.10 or similar warehouse/ERP system for clocking in and out, moving parts, reporting labor, and receiving product. Ability to create and review Bills of Lading and compare them against actual merchandise. Strong attention to detail for maintaining inventory control and accurate shipping documentation. Basic computer and data entry skills for recording information in systems and on process sheets. Ability to work in a warehouse and machine shop environment that can be loud at times. Reliable attendance and punctuality for assigned shift and training schedule. Additional Skills & Qualifications Previous experience as a shipping clerk or in a similar role monitoring merchandise leaving a warehouse. Experience creating shipping documents and shipment records in a shipping system. Comfort working in a metal stamping or manufacturing environment. Willingness to learn and use company-specific systems such as E.10 and shipping software. Ability to work both independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced setting. Why Work Here? Work Environment You will work in a climate-controlled machine shop and warehouse environment that is clean and well-maintained. As a metal stamping facility, the area can become loud at times, and appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE) is provided to support your safety. Personal lockers are available for secure storage of your belongings, and the break room includes a ping pong table to encourage relaxation and interaction during breaks. The regular shift is 1st shift from 8:30 a.m. to 5:00 p.m., with an initial training period of approximately 3-4 weeks on a 6:30 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. schedule. You will use warehouse systems such as E.10, shipping software, and standard material handling equipment while performing shipping, receiving, and inventory tasks. Job Type & Location This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Woodbury, MN. Pay and Benefits The pay range for this position is $20.00 - $23.00/hr.
