Position Overview We are seeking a highly organized and systematic Shipping Department Manager to lead and improve our shipping and fulfillment operations. This role is responsible for managing a team of approximately 10-15 employees within a manufacturing environment while ensuring orders are shipped accurately, efficiently, and on time. This position is ideal for someone who thrives in operational environments, understands manufacturing workflows, enjoys building structure and accountability, and is passionate about continuous improvement. The ideal candidate is not just a "people manager," but a process-driven leader who can identify inefficiencies, implement systems, track KPIs, and maintain high operational standards while motivating a team. Key ResponsibilitiesTeam Leadership & Management Lead, manage, and develop a team of 10-15 shipping and warehouse employees Create a culture of accountability, organization, teamwork, and continuous improvement Conduct daily team meetings and communicate department goals clearly Ensure proper workload allocation and staffing efficiency Train employees on procedures, quality standards, safety, and operational expectations Support employee growth and help build future leaders within the department Shipping & Fulfillment Operations Oversee daily shipping operations across multiple sales channels including D2C and marketplace orders Ensure orders are shipped accurately and on time Coordinate with production, warehouse, customer service, and management teams Monitor workflow bottlenecks and proactively resolve operational issues Maintain organization of finished goods and shipping materials Ensure shipping documentation and tracking information are accurate Process Improvement & Systems Build and maintain structured operational processes Develop and improve SOPs, checklists, workflows, and department organization Track department KPIs and use data to drive decisions Identify inefficiencies and implement scalable solutions Help improve inventory accuracy and shipping workflows Work closely with leadership on operational improvement initiatives Safety & Quality Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment Enforce safety procedures and operational standards Ensure products meet company quality standards before shipment Reduce shipping errors, damages, and operational waste QualificationsRequired 3+ years of leadership experience in manufacturing, warehouse, shipping, or fulfillment operations Experience managing teams of 10+ employees Strong organizational and systematic thinking skills Experience implementing or improving operational processes Ability to prioritize and manage multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment Strong communication and leadership abilities Comfortable using technology, spreadsheets, and operational software Strong problem-solving and decision-making skills Preferred Experience in furniture manufacturing or made-to-order manufacturing Experience with shipping software and operational KPI tracking Bilingual (English/Spanish) is a plus What Success Looks Like Shipping operations run in a structured and predictable manner Orders ship accurately and on time Team members understand expectations and operate efficiently Department KPIs are consistently tracked and improved Operational bottlenecks are identified and resolved proactively The department becomes increasingly scalable and system-driven Leadership Traits We Value System-focused thinking Accountability and ownership mentality Ability to remain calm under pressure Strong attention to detail Continuous improvement mindset Respectful and team-oriented leadership Adaptability in a fast-growing environment Result-oriented approach Compensation & Benefits Competitive salary based on experience ($62,000 - 74,000 + bonuses) Growth opportunities within a fast-growing manufacturing company Paid time off and holidays Employee development and leadership growth opportunities Opportunity to help shape the future operational structure of the company Why Join Us?
