This position reports to:
Supply Chain Manager __ Shipping Receiving Clerk
  • 2nd shift The position of Shipping/Receiving Clerk
  • is an exciting job in St.
Louis. This position can best be characterized as a fast pace and challenging job. As reflected in the job duties, the job entails versatility and flexibility. This position reaches across all departments of the St. Louis facility. Inside and outside the plant, the shipping/receiving clerk deals with a wide variety of people on a daily basis. The successful bidder must be able to demonstrate his/her knowledge, skills and abilities in a reasonable amount of time. The Supervisor and Area Manager will determine this trial period.
QUALIFICATIONS
  • Understand and follow all ABB safety policies, safety training, and hazard communication requirements; wear proper personal protective equipment (PPE) including hard hat, safety glasses, hearing protection, safety shoes, cut-resistant gloves, and safety sleeves when required; inspect and ensure equipment is in proper working order prior to operating.
  • Ability to lift and/or carry up to 50 pounds; frequently grip with hands, turn, push, and bend; occasionally reach above shoulder level and pull; sit and/or stand for extended periods and maintain pace with demanding production requirements in hot and cold environments.
  • Possess dexterity and hand-eye coordination to operate various forklifts and equipment including electric chain hoists, forklift, Bigfoot, electric and manual pallet jacks, and controls with buttons; ability to obtain forklift operator license; ability to fill in for production forklift driver as needed; load trucks legally in compliance with Federal regulations by calculating weights accurately.
  • Demonstrate self-motivation and ability to work independently; effectively communicate information to supervisors, managers, other plants, freight companies, tool room personnel, and coworkers; ability to comprehend and follow written and verbal instructions.
  • Ability to read, write, and use a computer; understand production orders, schedules, and special instructions; complete inspections as required; accurately fill out manifests and bills of lading; perform variety of complex shipping and receiving tasks.
  • Maintain regular work attendance including arriving on time and remaining at work until end of scheduled workday; demonstrate reliability and commitment to scheduled work hours; ability to work daily and weekend overtime, including overtime on short notice, to meet operational demands.
