What Happens in Shipping and Receiving Anyway? Interact with donors to accept and process donations at trailer sites in an outdoor setting; provide outstanding service to all donors Receive newly donated items from our Donations team Help us be green and sustainable, sort and ship recyclable items Lift up to 50 lbs. Work in the heat, the cold and in wet weather conditions Unload trailers in a safe and efficient manner Teamwork Makes The Dream Work Our dock team works together to take great care of items provided by our donors and provide excellent treasures for our customers. Nonexempt Position Purpose and Objectives America's Thrift Stores is seeking a new Shipping/Receiving Team Member to join our dynamic team! We're looking for individuals who thrive in a fast-paced warehouse setting, value teamwork, and have a strong work ethic. If you're passionate about helping others and committed to providing excellent customer service to our donors, we want to hear from you! Successful candidates will enjoy both indoor and outdoor work environments and are eager to contribute to a meaningful cause. This role offers a unique opportunity to blend your passion for charity with your interest in retail. Roles and Responsibilities Accurately counts, weighs, and measures incoming and outgoing shipments. Ensures timely delivery of materials to the required locations. Records material movements and weights in the designated tracking system. Identifies and documents discrepancies, including shortages and excesses, and promptly reports issues to management. Safely operates material handling equipment while adhering to PPE guidelines. Provides assistance to customers or donors at the store donation center as needed. Performs additional tasks as assigned by the supervisor or management. Skills and Qualifications Must be 18 years or older. Basic math skills are essential. Must work well in a team-oriented setting. Must understand and follow company policies and procedures. Strong organizational and time management skills with the ability to prioritize effectively. Must be capable of maintaining accurate records and reporting progress to management. Proven ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously.
