Full-Time/part time About Us The Selma Barn is a locally owned small business in Selma, California serving homeowners, landscapers, and contractors throughout the Central Valley. We offer small engine repair, bulk landscape materials (bark, compost, rock, gravel, DG, and more), short-load concrete trailer service, and retail sales of equipment and parts. We're a tight-knit team that works hard and takes pride in getting things done right. As we grow, we're looking for the right person to be the face of our shop and keep things running smoothly up front so our mechanics can do what they do best. The Role We're hiring a Shop Coordinator to own the front counter. This is a key position — you'll be the first person customers talk to, and the hub that keeps communication flowing between customers and our repair team. This is a great fit for someone who is organized, people-oriented, and thrives in a busy, hands-on environment. No mechanical experience required — we'll train you on everything you need to know about our services. What You'll Do Greet walk-in customers and answer incoming calls in a friendly, professional manner Take in small engine repair drop-offs — collect equipment info, problem description, and customer contact details Write up repair tickets and tag equipment Provide basic quotes for landscape materials and concrete trailer rentals using our price sheets Call or text customers when repairs are complete and ready for pickup Keep the repair log and job board updated throughout the day Process retail sales transactions Schedule concrete trailer rentals and coordinate with the team Keep the front counter and customer area clean and organized Assist with light data entry and paperwork What We're Looking For Strong people skills — you enjoy talking to customers and can stay calm and friendly when it's busy Organized and detail-oriented — you take notes, follow through, and don't let things fall through the cracks Reliable — you show up on time, every day Basic computer skills — comfortable with email, texting customers, and simple data entry A self-starter who can manage the front without being micromanaged Prior experience in a shop, hardware store, construction supply, or similar environment is a plus but not required Spanish speaking is a huge plus!
