Shop Foreman / Production Manager 655 North Queens Avenue, Lindenhurst, NY 11757 From $115,000 a year - Full-time From $115,000 a year - Full-time V&J Auto Body is a high-volume, OEM-certified collision repair facility based in Lindenhurst, NY, with over 40 years of industry leadership. We specialize in manufacturer-certified repairs, advanced vehicle technology, EV repair, and ADAS-integrated collision work. Our operation is built around process, accountability, technology, and customer experience. We are not a traditional body shop. We operate a fast-paced, highly organized production environment focused on doing repairs the right way, following OEM procedures, and delivering an exceptional customer experience. We are seeking a strong operational leader to help drive production, support technicians, maintain quality standards, and continue building a high-performance culture throughout the shop. This is a hands-on leadership role best suited for someone who thrives in a high-accountability environment and takes pride in building structure, solving problems, leading by example, and maintaining a strong presence on the shop floor. This role ensures efficient workflow, proper repair procedures, adherence to OEM standards, and on-time delivery of vehicles. The Shop Foreman leads technicians, maintains production schedules, and enforces quality, safety, and performance standards across the shop. Production & Workflow Management Oversee and manage all daily shop floor operations to ensure efficient vehicle flow from intake through delivery Dispatch work to technicians based on skill level, workload, and production priorities Own production flow, maintain consistent vehicle movement through all departments, monitor cycle times, and proactively resolve workflow delays before they impact delivery dates. Coordinate with estimators, parts department, and CSRs to ensure seamless workflow and communication Ensure all repairs meet OEM specifications, company standards, and insurance requirements Candidates must be comfortable operating within a highly process-driven and technology-focused repair environment, including OEM repair procedures, digital production tracking, repair documentation requirements, calibration awareness, and shop management systems such as CCC and BSC. Quality Control Oversee in-process and final quality inspections on all vehicles Ensure proper repair procedures, safety standards, and documentation are followed Address and resolve any rework issues or quality concerns immediately Team Leadership & Supervision Supervise all shop technicians, including body, paint, and prep staff Provide hands-on support, technical guidance, and problem-solving as needed Maintain accountability for productivity, efficiency, and workmanship Enforce company policies, procedures, and performance expectations The right candidate must be dependable, organized, emotionally mature, and capable of leading a fast-paced production environment with consistency and professionalism. This role requires strong communication, accountability, calm decision-making under pressure, and the ability to solve problems without creating unnecessary conflict or disruption within the team. Employee Management Review and approve employee timesheets for accuracy and productivity alignment Manage and approve paid time off (PTO) and vacation requests based on staffing needs and production requirements Conduct quarterly performance reviews for all technician direct reports, including goal setting and performance improvement plans when necessary Participate in hiring, onboarding, and training of new technicians Parts & Materials Coordination Work closely with the parts department to ensure timely ordering, receipt, and accuracy of parts Verify parts availability prior to scheduling repairs to avoid delays Monitor material usage and control waste Performance & Reporting Track and report on key performance metrics (cycle time, touch time, efficiency, etc.) Identify opportunities to improve shop productivity and operational efficiency Assist in implementing process improvements and new technologies Qualifications Minimum 7+ years of experience in an auto body shop, with at least 4+ years in a leadership or foreman role Valid driver's license Experience in a high-volume production environment required Strong understanding of OEM-certified repair processes and procedures Proficient in collision repair processes, including body, structural, and refinish operations Familiarity with estimating and shop management systems (CCC, Mitchell, or similar) Ability to read and interpret repair plans, OEM procedures, and technical documentation Proven ability to lead, motivate, and manage a team in a fast-paced environment Strong organizational and time management skills Ability to make decisions under pressure and solve complex operational issues Strong communication and interpersonal skills Commitment to quality, safety, and continuous improvement
