Job Description

Looking for a hands-on role where your mechanical skills can make a difference every day? West Side Salvage , a leader in grain recovery and disaster response, is looking for a Shop Maintenance Technician to join their growing team in Atkins, IA. As a Shop Maintenance Technician , you'll maintain and repair a wide variety of equipment used in daily operations. Equipment includes, but isn't limited to, trucks, loaders, forklifts, trailers, and other shop and yard machinery that keep operations running smoothly. This is a hands-on role for someone who enjoys mechanical problem solving and working with a variety of equipment in both shop and yard environments. Why Join West Side Salvage? What You'll Do:
Perform preventative maintenance inspections to identify potential mechanical issues before failure occurs Diagnose and repair mechanical, hydraulic, and electrical issues on shop and yard equipment Troubleshoot equipment malfunctions and determine appropriate repair solutions Maintain inventory of supplies on the equipment and ensure items are restocked according to established supply lists Collaborate with the operations team to prioritize equipment readiness Ensure compliance with safety procedures when operating or repairing equipment
What You Bring:
Previous mechanical or equipment repair experience Comfort using hand tools, power tools, and shop equipment Ability to work independently and manage repair priorities Basic welding or fabrication experience is a plus but not required Valid driver's license preferred If you're energized by hands-on work, diverse daily challenges, and being part of a dependable team, this could be a great fit. !
