Job Description
Category Schools - Sign Language Interpreter Job Type Contract Contribute your expertise as a Sign Language Interpreter in a dynamic school environment, supporting students for the 2026-2027 academic year. This full-time contract position offers the opportunity to make a meaningful difference in the lives of students who are deaf or hard of hearing, working closely with educators within a dedicated special education district. The role is based onsite (virtual work is not available), providing face-to-face engagement and direct support across 35 hours each week. This assignment is scheduled from August 10, 2026, through May 20, 2027 (final date may be extended through May 27th). Specific assignments and classroom settings will be tailored to your strengths and discussed during the interview process. Two positions are available, lending a professional community of interpreters and collaborative support.
What You'll Need:
Proficiency in American Sign Language (ASL) EIPA Score of 3.5 or higher is required Previous experience interpreting in educational settings, particularly with K-12 students Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to adapt to different learning environments Ability to maintain confidentiality and adhere to professional ethical standards Dependable attendance and commitment to onsite work; remote accommodations are not availableKey Responsibilities:
