Job Description

Category Schools - Sign Language Interpreter Job Type Contract Step into a rewarding contract opportunity supporting student success in a vibrant school environment near Douglasville, GA. A full-time Sign Language Interpreter is needed for the upcoming school year, beginning August 5th. In this meaningful role, you'll provide dedicated 1:1 interpreting services for a high school freshman, helping to ensure clear communication and access throughout the school day.
Key Qualifications & Experience:
Demonstrated proficiency in sign language interpretation within school settings Hold a minimum of a 3.5 on the Educational Interpreter Performance Assessment (EIPA) Willingness to obtain Georgia Professional Standards Commission (GaPSC) interpreter licensure (guidance can be provided) Familiarity with educational environments and adapting communication styles to meet student needs Strong sense of professionalism, compassion, and reliability
Primary Responsibilities:
Serve as a 1:1 interpreter for a high school freshman, supporting classroom learning, group activities, and school events Facilitate clear communication between the student, peers, and staff Maintain confidentiality and a supportive atmosphere Collaborate with teachers and support staff to create the best possible educational experience
