Key Qualifications:

Proficiency in American Sign Language (ASL) Experience serving as a Sign Language Interpreter, preferably in a school setting Ability to work effectively 1:1 with high school-aged students Professional certification or licensure as required for school interpreters (preferred) Strong communication skills and the ability to collaborate with educators and staff Commitment to confidentiality and upholding student privacy

Role Responsibilities:

Provide accurate and effective interpretation between spoken English and ASL during classroom instruction and school activities Partner closely with the assigned high school student to facilitate full access to curriculum and interactions Support participation in classroom discussions, group work, extracurriculars, and school events Maintain professional standards and adhere to the ethical guidelines for educational interpreters Adapt interpreting approach as needed to adjust for classroom environment and individual student needs As an interpreter in this setting, you'll enjoy a consistent weekday routine following the academic calendar with weekends and school holidays off.
